Tender Loving Care Facility. Salute all Nurses in this facility that takes care of my Mother. Great Job!!
This Facility is awesome and very caring staff.!!! thumbs up :)
Worst experience ever. Filthy rooms. Bathroom that smelled like pee. Forgetful staff. My mother was there for 3 days and is a diabetic. They had no diabetic diet for her and every single time they brought food it was something she was unable to eat. When they said they would bring her something else they NEVER CAME BACK. The nurses took an hour to change the lady's diaper in the bed next to my moms on several occasions so the room smelled like feces. They left a commode full of urine in the room for the entire 3 day stay. The nurses are nice but nice doesnt cut it all the time. The call button for my moms bed was not plugged into the wall so my mom was calling and no one came AND the staff was aware of it because when we finally got someones attention they knew the button was not working and they mentioned how they gave it to the patient in the bed next to hers. Then proceeded to give her the working call button and leave the other patient with no call button at all!!!
Horrible horrible facility. It was HELL.
This place is broke down and they starve the patients and give them a little bit of food.
The place appears to be ok, however I found a a patient hanging off the bed needing warmer clothes. Response for assistance very slow. The staff was alerted of my Mother history of bladder infection and did not take action for over a week. My Mother was dehydrated, lack of fluid for over a week and half, was taken to the hospital. It was confirmed my Mother had a bladder infection, a day or two from death door. No oversight of patients care. If the family can determine health issues what was the trained staff doing, nothing.
Very Good and Caring Staff.
I have a relative who was staying here until a few days ago when a nurse injured him. She inserted an IV in his hand which caused an allergic reaction. He told her that it burned and was hurting really bad and she told him that, "It's good for you", turned around and walked away. He suffered blisters to the hand and forearm and pulled out the IV himself.
Their doctor attempted to override my power of attorney, which only a judge can do, and told me that my relative didn't want to go home but wanted to stay there. I talked to my relative the next day and he said that he never said any such thing. They lied to us.
They then would not tell me how much longer Medicare would be paying for his stay and tried to get us to sign up for Medical so he could stay with them. He only wanted to go home, so that's what he did. We took him home and they tried to stop us. This place is being run like a prison.
They keep the patients in their beds most of the day and won't let them get up or walk around or wheel around in their chairs.
If you have a loved on in there, I'd be watching them like a hawk. They are dishonest and only want to make money by housing the elderly. Disgusting.
Have a parent there now. Positive is the staff seems very caring, and kind. Negative is staff is VERY slow answering calls for assistance. Parent has said it takes so long to get a bedpan it's often too late by the time it arrives, and when it does arrive in time, it takes way to long for someone to come back and remove it. Twice when I was there, I pressed the call for a bedpan and waited at least 15-20 minutes, nobody came. I got the bedpan and figured it out myself then left it in the bathroom, and it was 45 minutes later when someone finally came. Wound drainage tubes are not being addressed appropriately. We've frequently heard other patients down the hall yelling out for a nurse or staff to help them so it's clear my parent isn't the only patient not being attended to promptly. Also note while visiting that the staff only seems to come in when required for meals or meds, there's no checking in periodically to see how they're doing or if they need anything. It appears this facility is WAY understaffed, and we've heard staff complaining in the hallway about their work and patients. If light rehab is needed this facility is certainly sufficient, but for patients with more needs, this facility is clearly not staffed well enough to provide a quality level of attention and care to all patients.
Very Good Nursing Home.
I'm rating this facility a 2 1/2. The Staff here have to much drama. Upper management need to address a lot of issues.
The quality of care of the patients is truly sad. The company itself has no compassion for the fact that these are human beings, all they see are dollar signs. The complete disregard and lack of appreciation for staff doesn't help either. As a daily visitor there, I witnessed very disturbing things, interaction between employees and management which included excessive verbal abuse that eventually hindered the quality of care that was able to be given to the patients. The area is bad, the security is non-existent, and the overall quality of the facility itself is sub par as I've seen several roaches and sat for entire days in the room with my family member with little to no air circulation or air conditioning. This cannot be safe for patients as they all lay in bed sweating. Sadly this facility has a monopoly over the area as it is the only one that offers respiratory care for tracheostomy patients.
MY MOTHER HAS BEEN TO A COUPLE DIFFERENT FACILITIES IN THE AREA. RECHE CANYON IS THE BEST….FROM THE WONDERFUL THERAPY STAFF TO THE CARING NURSING STAFF. YOU CAN NOT EXPECT PERFECTION, BUT WHEN I HAD AN ISSUE OF MISSING CLOTHING, THEY JUMPED ON IT. GREAT PLACE FOR REHAB BEFORE GOING HOME.
This place is absolutely horrible and its not the nurses or cnas at all it starts from the top. The new administration is completely ridiculous and extremely rude. The so called Director of nursing should not even be a nurse she is also very rude and doesn't care about the patients. This place shiuld seriously be shut down!!!!
Administration not helpful.
My father-in-law was there after his stroke. When he improved and was moved to assisted living, he liked to go back just to visit. Eleven years later, when he was no longer able to be in assisted living, he ASKED to go back. In the front office, both Connie and Doreen are very compassionate and kind. They met dad at the door and made sure he was comfortable. We never experienced staff being unpleasant. They were always responsive and understanding. They don't hesitate to do upgrades, either. Among other improvements, all the residents now have flat-screen TV's and the floors have all been redone. It's always clean and the food is also pretty good. My mother-in-law is now there. It's around the corner from us and we visit often. We would never consider any other place.
The building and equipment is out of date. The rooms are crowded and their staff is unprofessional. I would not trust leaving my loved one in their hands.
A very caring facility. I have had my father (81 years old) there for about 3 months. He has never been in the hospital prior to this situation. The WHOLE team from Heritage Park have given the best they can toward my father and the family. They are not perfect, but they genuinely try to deliver the best care. I highly recommend this facility.
When looking for a care-facility, always ask, "Can I possibly provide a better care for my loved ones compared to a nursing facility?" Don't compare against perfect situation, but compare with reality and always think about the patient.

My Dad has been very ill over the past few months. He's been in and out of the hospital more than 4 times in just the last 45 days, staying anywhere from 4 to 7 days. After his last 7 day stay it was brought to our attention that he could go to a skilled nursing facility for after care before going home. I was absolutely against it, but in the end it was his decision to go. So I took him to Upland Rehab with HUGE skepticism. My Dad means more to me than I could EVER put into words and I'm VERY overprotective with him. He's been there for more than a week, and in this time his care has been top notch. He's getting quality and loving care. Since day one the staff has been loving, supportive, professional and tireless in caring for my Dad. I could not be more at ease than if I were doing it myself! Lol! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!! To EVERY staff member who has made my Dad's care their #1 priority! I'll never forget you all…and honestly believed you've made a difference in his physical, emotional, and spiritual well being…much love to you all!!
For those interested or in need of a long term care facility for an elderly loved one it would be best if LINDA VALLEY CARE CENTER located in Loma Linda near the VA Hospital was not on your proposed list.
The administration adheres to bad judgment calls, allows theft from its patients on a routine basis, and does not follow decent human protocols regarding the QUALITY OF LIFE for its tenants. On average, 'tenants' that push the 'call' button on their beds are forced to wait for up to 20 minutes before being seen by the attending staff. There have been instances of 'tenants' going to bed without having been fed dinner. If you love the person in need of such care, please believe this statement: DO NOT PUT THEM HERE.
Best license nurse, awesome
How Rancho Mesa got 5stars from the government and 1 1/2 by the state of cal. is interesting. They don't deserve any stars from what i saw on my visits. I will keep my dad at home before I would subject him to the rude staff that work there.
I only gave then 1 1/2 stars because it would not let me submit without at least that many
Worst Place Ever! The Administrator Mr Scarpelly is a racisat biased person! He continued to harras my father and threaten him untill finally just a week ago he knocked my father out of his wheel chair and caused him to hit his head. Scarpelly forcebly jerked my father in his chair in his attempt to move my father from his room and caused him to fall. I called the Ontario Police department for physical and emotional abuse, as well as racism, and stolen belongings. I removed my father from this facility and am in the process of filing a civil lawsuit against Scarpelly and the nursing facility. My father is a 48 year old hispanic male who is a very alert person who is very aware of all the abuse and neglect that goes on in this facility and nothing gets done. But i do promise this man will pay the consequences in a civil matter! I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Nursing staff, including LVNs and CNAs, are helpful. LVN Michelle is outstanding and would get a 5 out of 5. Meals appear to be great. My relative in residence was treated well. Only concern was petty cash I gave relative disappearing on occasion.
My dad was at Linda Valley for over a month and the care he received at Linda Valley was much better than other Skilled Nursing Facilities. The staff genuinely cares about their patients. The doctors scheduled Physical Therapists to work with my dad. Linda Valley isn't a state of the art facility, however, the nurses, technicians, and physical therapists are top notch. Dad's health improved at Linda Valley. He was transferred to Acute Rehab and discharged. My dad may not completely recover, but his stay at Linda Valley helped him immensely. My family and I are impressed with the care he received at Linda Valley.
