Review of Upland Rehabilitation and Care Center

2 Star User Review

Have a parent there now. Positive is the staff seems very caring, and kind. Negative is staff is VERY slow answering calls for assistance. Parent has said it takes so long to get a bedpan it's often too late by the time it arrives, and when it does arrive in time, it takes way to long for someone to come back and remove it. Twice when I was there, I pressed the call for a bedpan and waited at least 15-20 minutes, nobody came. I got the bedpan and figured it out myself then left it in the bathroom, and it was 45 minutes later when someone finally came. Wound drainage tubes are not being addressed appropriately. We've frequently heard other patients down the hall yelling out for a nurse or staff to help them so it's clear my parent isn't the only patient not being attended to promptly. Also note while visiting that the staff only seems to come in when required for meals or meds, there's no checking in periodically to see how they're doing or if they need anything. It appears this facility is WAY understaffed, and we've heard staff complaining in the hallway about their work and patients. If light rehab is needed this facility is certainly sufficient, but for patients with more needs, this facility is clearly not staffed well enough to provide a quality level of attention and care to all patients.
