We placed my 93 yr. old Mom here, due to a hip fracture repair. The nursing staff and Physical Therapy department has been outstanding! All concerns, such as a follow up urinalysis, were addressed immediately. The room is very comfortable and clean. Being an RN, I have very high expectations in regards to the quality of care. Even though my Mom is 93, she is very sharp and would tell me if something is wrong. I sleep well at night knowing that my Mom is receiving the best care possible!

Beware of this place. My family and I have had some experience with nursing homes in the metroplex and this place is the scariest as far as the care. Unless your loved one has full capacity to know what is going on and some ability to physically help themselves do NOT leave them here. Aides are too overworked to be able to help patients adequately. Nurses sadly are incompetent and unable to get the training they need from a Director of Nursing who has no concern for her staff and behaves more like a corporate puppet. You will also find no assistance from the social worker here. She is never available to talk with you and if by chance you do get a meeting, she will make sure you know how valuable her time is. This company brings no excellence to the care of the elderly and should not be allowed to conduct business in the dangerous way in which they do. Do NOT be fooled by the pretty exterior and do NOT leave a loved one here.

This is the worst place ever no one knows anything and no one wants to do there job 7weeks in hell is exactly what it was for my family member lazy aides and lazy social worker no communication from anyone they only want there money can't get answers or help from hardly anyone my uncle was in the same clothes for 4 days his clothes were just put in bags in trash bags and put in the closet. Food in coolers left in the room to rot

my girl friend who had a stroke and needed rehabilitation stayed a month at the Carlyle. In that time she had contracted pneumonia, blood infection, uniary infection twice, bed soars and unchanged bandages. Took exceptional lengths of time for staff to answer call button. Noted that there where no hand sanatizers in rooms…..just a few located in the halls

This place is wonderful. Although I can't believe they make their nurses pass out food trays. That's a ridiculous waste of valuable resources. Aside from that…the level of care is outstanding from the nurses. The negative reviews are crazy. They must be from crazy people who have unrealistic expecations of their loved ones outcome. I mean come on people. They can't perform miracles. What they can do and what they do do is provide compassionate care. They made me feel like they cared more about my mother and her health than I did. It's because of them and the care she received from her nurses and the rehab staff that she was able to come home and not to the nursing home.

DO NOT GO TO THE CARLYLE! My mother was admitted to the Carlyle after knee replacement surgery. After a few days she was complaining of shortness of breath and infection in her knee. The workers continued for days to only administer antibiotics and would not get her a doctor as she requested over and over. Finally, after several days, a doctor came to do a check-up on her and immediatly admitted her to Baylor Grapevine Hospital. She had several blood clots including one in her LUNG! She also had a serious infection in her knee and was in serious need of blood transfusions. She could have died right there without the help of any of the staff at THE CARLYLE! Needless to say my family is livid.

My grandfather was only at this facility for 20 days after being discharged from the hospital and already had a level 2 bedsore and inflamed skin around pelvic area from not being taken to the restroom or changed in a timely manner.

If you are thinking of putting your loved one in this facility, DON'T! It provides no care whatsoever! And even though families complained to the State authorities repeatedly, nothing has improved.
I was told by one of the doctors that the reason for the revolving door of caregivers was because none of them lived in the area and as soon as they found a job closer to their homes, they quit. That may be one reason, but the other is that the management has no clue what they are doing! Nor do they care!
There is no accountability. They are glad if the patient sleeps through meals or is too sick to push the call button because that is less work for them. From the nurses to the managers to the poorly paid help, no one really seemed to care about the patient. I can't tell you how many times I drove up and found them smoking in the parking lot, only to scurry inside because they had been caught! When my mother finally fell and broke a bone, we moved her to another facility that is so much better run.
It may be a pretty place, but if they don't take care of the patients, it is not work the $6000+ that they charge. Go somewhere that cares!!!!!

I had a pleasant experience there and found the staff to be caring and supportive. I would return if need be.
Four stars, because they do need to improve their week end staff.

My Dad has had a wonderful experience at The Carlysle while recovering from emergency coronary double bypass. He has been there two weeks and has met almost all his physical therapy goals. His nurses (Alexander, Susan and Alex) have been very attentive and caring. His physical therapists keep him engaged and active. While the care is not on the same level as a hospital, it's exactly what he's needed (and more than we could provide at home). He likes the food and the people he's met. Kudos to The Carlysle and staff.

1. Not enough staff, well they have the staff it's just they are always in the coffee bistro.
2. Basically RN told Dr that my 90 yr old mother was a 'problem' so she was given Haldol. bad medicine
3. They said my mother needed 'too much' attention and they didn't have the staff. So I had to hire a private CNA to sit with my mother IN their facility.
4. It's very pretty and clean … as long as you stay in your room, never ring the bell and don't ask for anything, then it's ok

I wouldn't refer my worst enemy here. It looks nice and the staff is nice when you go to meet them. It's later when you find out this place is a nightmare. The staff could care less about your loved one and are only there to collect a paycheck. Whats worse is upper "management" is just as bad. Please do not send anyone here. They don't give medications on time and the call button is useless, nobody pays attention to it. The nurses sit around the desk chatting while buttons and alarms go off being ignored. They kept moving the call button to the other side of my mom so she COULDN'T push it after repeated requests to stop doing it. This place provides NO CARE at all.

Where do I start??? The staff is very rude and unprofessional! It takes 20 - 40 minutes to answer the call button when my dad pushes it. They are very unorganized and it seems as though the staff doesn't communicate well with each other. The care meeting there that I had about my father was joke. The social worker said that I only had 15 minutes and they were on a schedule so they didn't answer any of my questions or tell me anything I didn't know or make me feel as if my father was getting the care he needed.
I don't think they liked me because I actually made them work. I wanted answers and had questions about my father and they seemed to not understand and kept interrupting me. I asked to get a paper signed by the doctor for insurance and got the run around from the staff . They lost my paper a few days later. The head nurse, Deb, told my father that the paper I needed to be signed was becasue I wanted to "COMMIT" him. I don't know where she got that from and why she thought that she had the right to tell my father a complete lie!!!!!!!!!!! I am definatly reporting her and the staff for the stress they have caused my father and myself.
I can go on and on but BEWARE!!!
Don't let your loved one go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This facility has been open for a year now and does not appear to be doing as
well as when it opened. Had we known of the poor staffing ratio we never would have used this place. The care there prompted a move to another facility.
Staffing was poor then with call lights being on for often 20 minutes and causing those bed bound to soil themselves. I have personal knowledge of this fact. I recently visited a friend who was there and left due to poor staffing . She also was forced to wet the bed because no one answered her light. Evening and night nurses never answered a call, only aides and there were never enough of them. The ratio was often 44 to 45 patients, 1 licensed staff and 2 aides. Licensed staff said they were fearful of their licenses being on the line. Those in power told us they were in compliance with state rules but the patients suffered. Administration's attitude was , "if you don't like it, move".
Getting towels was almost impossible and other linens were treated like gold. Draw sheets were non-existent. The problems were unending and not attended to by administration or the head nurse, whom we never saw. Think twice before using this facility or plan to be there 24/7.
