This use to be a good nursing home I was told but not anymore. My mom was there in May for rehab only 2wks. Mom has dementia and they put her on a floor for only patients with dementia and not rehab. She was given Xanax by the doctor there and I was not notified of this. My mom was drugged up so bad she couldn't eat, stand, or do any of the rehab. I was there everyday at all different times asking what was wrong with her with no answer until I caught them one night at 8:30pm giving her the Xanax. After I found out, it was stopped(I assume) and I fed her meals that I brought over myself and watched the rest of the times she was there doing rehab. She was left in a room all day with nothing to do. They are understaffed that I waited 15 minutes to take her to the bathroom and I finally gave up and took her myself. After 21 days I finally got her home where she eats and walks on her own. Do not put a family member in here unless they are able to speak for themselves. You have to be there all the time watching them. I was frightened of this place and learned my lesson.
I wouldn't let them take care of a non living object never mind a person. The staff is a complete and utter DISGRACE!!! They take every cent their residents have worked hard for their whole life and treat them like dirt on their shoe. Even better these so called doctors and nurses went to school for this. !! They should find a new job and the only job they are capable of is cleaning up horse manure. The only reason they are getting one star is because they won't post it without one. So really I give them ZERO stars. I wonder if they would want someone treating their relatives the way treat others.
This place is horrible. I'm not racist but it's not place for African-American residents. The therapy is some of the worst therapy ever and the equipment is not up to date. This place is driven off money and not really concerned about patient and rehabilitating the community. All of the therapist barely speak english. The directors of rehab are two of the most disrespectful and unprofessional human beings on the planet. The directors of rehab should have been fired years ago and never manage anyones facility again.
Thank me later
This facility is grossly understaffed, especially with respect to RNs. If you ask for help, the typical answer is I am busy, they are not my patient, I will get it when I can etc. The resposible staff is over worked, while there are quite of few staff to avoid work at all costs, much to the detriment of the patients. Call bells go unanswered. If your family is there, check on them regularly! Demand that they receive the care for which they are being paid to provide. The state should onduct some surprise inspections.
my mom is a patient at egar nursing home. I am shocked at the way she and fellow patients are treated. she needed to go to the bathroom. she put her light on but no one came for 40 minutes. I asked why no one came to aid her(she is in a wheel chair and can not get up by herself)was told they were starting new shift and she would have to wait. she is not allowed water at night and her light is taken away from her so she will not disturb the nurses. disgrace….she is old and feeble. we count on the home to treat her with respect and good care. does not happen. beware if you or someone in your family is thinking of going to this institution.
I don't know where to start .. I give not even 1 star … We had verbal abuse … Bedsores … Dehydration .. Pure neglect .. They hire unprofessionals who don't have the elderly person well being in mind … When we complained he had an "accident"and fell and broke his hip … This occurred early in the morning and they took him to the hospital later in the day after they left him laying on the floor like an animal … They are disgraceful …
Seems nice enough, but I'm not impressed with the "rehabilitation" program.
My uncle was in there and it seemed they did their best to slow his recovery and time it to the extent of the insurance. He was entitled to 1 hour therapy , 5 days a week. All the other time he forced to stay in bed or in a wheel chair. He could clearly get around better than some of the permanent residents there. But they had no such restrictions, and believe me, you wouldn't have let some of them wander around unattended.
One time we asked him if he could stand up on his own and he popped right up and proved to us he could get around easily, with the help of a walker. A minute later a nurse ran in and ordered him to sit down. (God forbid he actually get stronger!) I find it hard to believe this was doctor's orders; sounds more like the accountants and lawyers in charge.
There was no reason he shouldn't have been able to recover more quickly. When we took him home, he climbed a flight of stairs under his own power (with a steadying hand, of course)
I find this treatment unethical.
the worst facility there is the nursing is dreadful I wouldn't send an animal there for any kind of care .. they should be shut down !!!
Dont go there simple as that!!!
I don't know why they won't allow me to only click one star. This place has my mother in the same room with a wailing looney, day and night, and won't move her or the looney to another room because of insurance reasons. Poor, poor quality of life.
3rd floor dirty smell's staff could be very nasty at times
I can't say enough about the wonderful care my grandmother receives from Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. I struggled with the idea of placing my grandmother in a nursing home for a long time, but I came to the realization that living at home was not a safe option. After extensive research I placed her in Clove Lakes and she and the whole family are thrilled. She is happy and busy with her new friends and the numerous activities they offer. The nurses are attentive and address all her medical needs and always keep me well informed.
My mother recently spent a month at Clove Lakes. All of us have only good things to say about the care she received while there. She is home now, quite noticeably stronger than she's been in a long time. All of the staff with whom we came in contact asked after her well being and ours. It was an extremely positive experience and we're thankful for the excellent care she received.
the cna's r not so friendly they r rude n un professional. i believe thye r not the one who runs the facility its the residents that live there. but they r being treated bad by the aids… i personally experienced things in the facility n im very shamed to see how ppl can do such things like that to another human being. i guess they dont realize that what they r doing today will hunt them tomorrow… the RNs r nice also some of the lpns but not the cnas.very few cna's r good in clove lake. i will really suggest that befor u hire someone u should not only check if they have the license but most important is, is this person able to take care of anothr person or just make money out of that person. i truely believe that working in medical field u need to have the stenghth to take care of someone u really have to love this job order to do it n if its for money trus me it is harm to both party. the care giver n the care reciever. my request is please look over your staff n please keep the good ones that care for people n will take good care of someones loved one… this is nothing personal.
