I was a patient there from Thursday 12/1/16- Saturday 12/1/0/16 on the 2nd floor. I must say, the care was excellent. The staff members were wonderful in all the departments, from nursing to dining to OT & PT - everybody was courteous and helpful. My stay was a very positive one.

My mother received superb care and made stunning progress. The nurses and PT know their stuff. They know medicine, they know how to work with my ndividusl patients . They check on people and took time to communicate with family. Big gold star. Hannah in PT was brilliant and caring. Her nurses, I remember most Anne Marie and Raquel really got to know my mother and how to speak with her. Best of all she trusted them and let them know how she felt so they could work well.
It was difficult from a distance but these people stood out.

My mother received excellent care and rehabilitation at Nu Vista. The food was delicious. The nursing care was extremely attentive. The facility is immaculate and looks like a five star hotel! The physical therapists were wonderful and very effective.

My husband was transferred here after knee surgery in June 2014, He was never given his pm meds, fell out of bed within 5 hours of arrival. And transferred to another hospital 3 hours after that. He passed away in July.
This is a scary place.
I would do zero stars, but your not able to.

NuVista almost killed my mother! She has a variety of health issues but she came in walking with some assistance and left 10 days later bed ridden. I was out of town for four days and in that time she developed an infection and pneumonia so she could not communicate via the phone. They told me time and time again that she is “doing fine” and there is no need for concern and they are well equipped to treat her. When I finally got there the day I returned my mother was completely incoherent, lying in urine and feces and laboring to breath. They continued to tell me she was fine and there was no need (or way) to have her transferred to a facility that could treat her. I never saw a registered nurse although they say she was seen by one but never a doctor. They refused to transfer her until I told them they either would or I would simply call 911. After I said that, the doctor magically was able to transfer her to JFK where she was put in ICU and I was asked to sign a DNR order. If I had not advocated aggressively, it is my belief NuVista would have let my mother die in that bed.

My mother was at Nu Vista for a period of time in April - May 2013. I have to agree with some of the other reviews. The nurses and aides aren't staying on top of the medications that should be given. My mother had several physiological issues that they were not able to manage effectively or in a timely manner. I had private aides with her also that were letting me know what was going on regularly. For one thing, they were giving my mother medication for constipation while she had diarrhea. The private aide alerted me and I had to go in and stop them. My mother's H & H was down to 7.6 after blood was drawn at 5:30am. I came in at 1pm to meet with the nurse practitioner. She pulled the lab report and said "Oh my God" we have to get her back to the hospital right away for another blood transfusion. That should have been taken care of much sooner.

the facility is farly clean. The management is uncaring and irrespnsible! Most of the nurses are nice or atleast satisfactory. However many of the aides who actually take care of your loved ones are unfriendly and lazy!! I would not recommend royal manor although there are even worse places out there!

Horrible! Worst place you could possible choose for your family. Horrible nurses, no one returns your calls, dining room is a mess, food is great (only good thing).

Nice facility but watch out. Like most all other reviews your loved one could have serious trouble with medications. The nurses are careless and will not question anything. Two times I caught the nurses showing up with a pill. When asked what it was for, the said it was Oxycontin. My mother is deathly allergic to it and it was not even intended for her. They miss medications and attempt to give you some that are not yours. Be sure your loved one can advocate for themselves and to always question what nurses are giving you and what they missed.

Physical therapy and OT is great. Food is top notch freash and healthy, in fact you may gain weight while there since they feed you so well and dining room and service is like a resturant. Dining room space was not planned out well since nearly every one is in a wheel chair and will bump feet and crampped. Guest are not allowed to eat with residents.
If you are able to advocate for your self and are not in need of medical attention the place is great. No doctors will just check in on patients unless Nurse Practioner ask for one. This means an attentive nurse would actually have to communicate with nurse practioner any health problems and talk to each other, which usually does not happen. This is not for patients that need a higher level of care and attention because they will get little of that and many medical issues are ignored. They will get lost in the shuffle. Over night staff is pretty sketchy and you will never see them unless you are there after 11pm.
Just because it is new and pretty and shiney and high tech does not mean it is good.

At this moment my mother's best friend is in this establishment. I'm happy with the cleanliness and atmosphere but the nurses and the CNAs could be quicker to assist the patients to the restroom. At first it was very frustrating because medications were late and the night shift was busy so she missed 2 doses of her medications. The nurse practitioner is very informative and helpful when the doctor isn't around. Case worker stated my mother's best friend would be there for about another 3 weeks, yet, they have been saying that for the past 2 weeks now. We'll see how this goes. So far I'm not too impressed and other residents seem to be complaining of the same issues as we are. From what I hear, the discharge/going home process is a nightmare! If anyone on here has been through the process and has advice PLEASE let me know! Other resident having been telling us "good luck".
I will try and update once we have her home safe and sound!

Nuvista is a great place to go. My first time there I was a visitor. The second time was after my knee surgery. They told me I would have to work out 2 twice a day and it would be hard. It was. The therapist and and nursing staff were simply the best. My girlfriends thought I was crazy going to inpatient rehabilitation but after visiting Nuvista before, I knew where I would want to go for my rehab. The food was good but the dining room service could use some work. I loved the free internet it kept my grandkids busy during their visits.

This is a new place that was not immediately known to me or my family. Apparently NuVista Living Rehab opened just last year…We could not be happier. Mom had her knee replacement surgery at JFK. After 18 days of great care, rehab and dare I say, amazing food, mom went back to her life…and so did her children (us)…thank you NuVista for helping mom!!!

Great food, pretty place, horrible nurses, rehab is always packed and the therapists will make you wait about 2 hours after your "appointment". Director of social service worker is very snobby and bratty I asked her about the going home process and she huffed and puffed like a 5 year old. The actual therapy was good but the nursing is scary they're so careless. I pressured my mother's time to go home because I was more afraid than anything. Not sure I would want any one else going to that place……

My mom was at NuVista and it was an amazing experience. They treat you with such dignity and respect. The rehab was so great, she was out in 17 days which our doctor was really impressed with. I would not send a loved one anywhere else.

This is place seems to be newly opened. Not many people we know or knew about it. Any doubt was quickly washed away…My mom had leg surgery and required rehab after being in the hospital for almost a week. From the time you enter the doors you think you are in a fine resort. One day on a visit they had pheasant on the menu? Seriously! The best part of all is the care my mom got and i believe she got home quicker because of the work this place did. Their equipment is amazing and their people truly care. Mom had to work out twice a day. My mom was told by all her friends that she would be at Nuvista for 30 days easily..they had a similar surgery..she was home in 20 days. I tell all my friends about Nuvista. It's in a weird spot behind the Whole Foods Plaza in Wellington off 441.

This facility truly has a lot of room for improvement! Nursing staff on the second floor is great during the day but horrible on the nights and weekend. They have ONE aide for about 10 patients which means, if your family member needs assistance to use the rest room, they better be ready to wait for help! The case worker I had to deal with, Sean, was seemed uneducated on coordinating my father's discharge. He could rarely answer my questions and seemed to forget a lot. He was very slow to coordinate home health and ordering a walker. My father was discharged without a walker and was home without home care for 5 days because of that case worker even after I gave him the name and phone number to the agency my father's ortho recommended.
The dining room was also a nightmare for my father as they would leave patients in the dining room up to 1 hour after they're done eating because the aides forget about them. Medications were also very LATE upon admission. My father went about 20 hours without his blood pressure medication and other cardio medications when he was admitted.
The therapy on the other hand was amazing. All the therapists are caring and know what they're doing. The nurse practitioner was also very caring and went above and beyond to assist my father in his recovery.
I know this place has only been open for a year so they really have room for improvement. I truly wish the experience would have been different as it really is a beautiful building with a lot of potential.

My mother has been in the acute rehabilitation section of this facility for about a week.
This is a very elegant and expensive facility. It looks roughly like one of those enormous over scale mansions in "new wealth" parts of Wellington. It is very well constructed, tasteful and conspicuously expensive. As a result, it is a genuinely nice place to visit. I enjoyed strolling the corridors, checking out the architectural details and smiling at the staff.
A lot of this is for show, of course. People who are sick enough to be in one of these places usually don't wander the corridors or enjoy the fancy lounges or pick up the books that are lying around for them to read.
A friend of mine who is very religious was turned off by the obvious extravagance of the facility. But none of this costs very much compared to the actual price tag of having 24x7 nursing care available for residents. So if it helps market the facility and makes people like me more comfortable (as it does, in both cases), there's nothing wrong with it.
My mother had an acute stroke and was initially treated at the Wellington hospital on Forest Hill. During her last couple of days at the hospital, her health was declining. When she came to the facility, she was inactive and unresponsive. This is apparently typical of cases like her, when they are moved; they gradually recover over time.
That was exactly what happened to my mother. She was unable to speak or respond when she came in; now, five days later, she has a very limited ability to speak. At all times, even when her situation looked hopeless to me, the nursing staff was great. They worked with her to try and get her to respond.
My mother, who was an ex-doctor, now has her brain totally addled, but once out of her non-response phase, she said two things: "They have everything" and "they don't do much". But what she doesn't say is that she's desperate to go home. Every day I visited her in the hospital after her stoke, she said how miserable she was and how much she wanted to go home. That talk has stopped once she moved to Nu Vista/Wellington.
The staff goes out of their way to pay attention to her, and it looks like they really care about the residents and their fates. Those residents who are in decent shape seem to like living there. I see a lot of smiles and hear vibrant conversations between residents. The dining room looks like a five-star restaurant, and service and food quality look very good.
I attended a rehab session with her, and the rehab chap was a constantly smiling black guy who was continuously trying to get her to engage - and she was responding positively.
I discussed her case with a doctor there, and he seemed no more or less capable than the doctors at the Wellington hospital. No doctors seem to know what to do about her case and how to help, but I suspect that is more a reflection on her case than the facilities.
I have a friend whose mother was placed in a care facility in Pennsylvania. When I visited with him, it appeared that the staff was significantly less competent and less concerned with their residents than Nu Vista. Furthermore, residents there appeared glum and life joyless. Compared to that facility - and it was supposedly a top-quality one in Pennsylvania - NuVista is pretty much paradise.
I wonder if the other reviewers have an unrealistic view of what can be expected of a care facility. Quite honestly I think they are doing a significantly better job at dealing with her than the hospital, spending more time with her, and yet her care here is much less expensive than at a hospital.
Now, I am not a medical professional, and know next to nothing about health. My mother is resting comfortably, she is gradually recovering, and I suspect that's the best I can hope for. My suspicion is that, although they "don't do much", they know the optimal amount that can actually be done, given my mother's situation and they do it, with a smile.

Not only is your care terrible but your killing quota is increased when your employees haul ass down the business parkway street and kill dogs because being late for work. Before thinking this was just about the dog, I did have a relative in your care, watching you force pills down her throat and other residents pleading with us to leave the door open so they can escape. Please take of your relatives, there is no reason to give a family member a death sentence cause if they go there its pretty much a hospice. My grandmother was killed there on January 29th 2000.

i have to say for a facility that is state of the art, the assisted living is managed poorly and the administrator is very erratic. No doctors really visit regularly from what I can tell, nothing special or different, just really disorganized
