Please do not bring them here and if you have them all ready at this place if you have any kind of love or compasión for them take them with you or look for a better place for them…My father was brought to this place by doctors orders for a short term rehabilitation…. This place sucks
We recently had our father placed in the Methodist Manor Memory Care unit. The experience so far has been less than satisfactory and a two star rating is being generous. While most of the floor staff appears to perform at a satisfactory level, the level of mid and upper tier supervision and management is virtually non-existent. Visits to the unit by senior staff are rare and the level of supervisor involvement in day-to-day operations is questionable. Engaged supervisors (right up to the CEO) on a no-notice basis would go a long way in improving the quality of the facility and staff performance. In my opinion, attention to detail and consistency of care need serious attention.
I can't thank Parks Edge and their excellent staff enough for the tender care that they gave my aunt during the last days of her life. The compassion and kindness extended to the family was exceptional, and it went a long way to make those very hard days a little more bearable.
The other review is very obviously written by a staff member. In reality, yes, the facility is very nice, spacious, and clean. Walking in, The Villages look like a hotel. There is none of the odor or depressing vibe you get walking into a typical, old nursing home. Primarily it has to do with the fact that the facility is new. Any new building is an advantage when it comes to atmosphere and cleanliness. For that, The Villages get points.
My father was in the skilled nursing wing for about 2 months. While he was not neglected, he often had to wait an hour or two for assistance with getting up, or getting to the bathroom. If it wasn't for the fact that my mother tried to be present day and night, he might not have fared so well. More than once, she noticed people calling for help, and being ignored for hours by the staff, particularly at night. When she tried to get a staff member to check on a neighbor of my dad's, the staff member looked huffy, and said something about that person always wanting something. Regardless of whether or not that is the case, that person deserved attention, especially since the staff member was just sitting at the desk down the hall. No one else was around. In any case, the calling for help was disturbing other residents.
I know my mother also had some problems getting the staff to properly dispense medication. At one point, they didn't even have one of my dad's medications in stock, and my mother had to get some out of his personal stock to fill in the time gap.
That being said, I have been in quite a few nursing homes, and they are what they are. If you have family and friends visiting a lot, you will fare better. If you don't, it's a matter of choosing based on Medicare ratings and reports or your own impression when you walk in. At least at The Villages, you feel like it's a nice place with generally pleasant people.
this is not a place you want to stay……..
Beautiful facility with many staff employed that are assisting residents in several areas in the facility. Friendly response of many employees and residents alike. No odors were detected. Extremely clean with no clutter noted. Spacious lounges designed for comfort and convenience for the residents and visitors alike. All areas except for the dining rooms and bathrooms are beautifully carpeted and clean. The hallways are spacious. the residents personal apartments and bathrooms are spacious and handicapped equips and accessible and safe and individually decorated with personal items, furniture, etc. Every resident wears a necklace pendent for easy and quick availability of emergency and personal assistance needs. Also call lights on every bed and bedroom and bathroom. Nursing stations have call light alerts and the staff carry pagers, walkie talkies or headphones that receive and transmit the call light alerts of all the residents in that area. Food is served restaurant style in the dining rooms or sent to the individual apartments or set up in reserved private rooms for special occasions of the residents families on request. The meals are served on very nice plates with the serving size and placement of the food attractive and appealing. The residents are served and monitored in the dining rooms by staff attending all pertsonal requests and preferences of many choices with excellent quality of food that has been specially prepared by chefs with many years of experience and special homemade recipes that especially appeal to the elderly population that has been prepared by chefs with great pride of their cooking abilities and expertise. All foods are freshly bought and prepared including meats, vegetables, potatoes, pastas, fruits, homemade desserts, etc. The residents themselves are more than happy to brag on their served meals that are very satisfying and appreciated. Staff are nurses, medication aids, nursing assistants, maintenance, housekeeping, activity personnel, physical/occupational/speech therapists, chefs and dietary assistants, personal and group transportation always available upon request to Doctors appointments, and needed personal destinations as well as group shopping to Walmart, etc every week. There is in house styling salons, Television rooms, libraries, and an amazing theater room with an enormous television screen and theater seating in a quiet spacious room. Home health services with many personnel in house. Several well-respected excellent physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, etc visit either once or twice a week to assess and treat the residents personal medical needs that also include senior specialists staff that provide in house medical needs of the residents. Residents medications are administered by trained staff and medications are ordered and delivered by many different pharmacies along with other medical equipment that is provided and delivered to the residents depending on their personal needs. The Villages at Southern Hills is a facility that everyone is proud to tell that they either live there, have a family member living there,or are employed there. What more could anyone expect from a facility where every resident is treated with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect? You may wish that if the day should ever come that you just are no longer able to reside in your own personal home for whatever reason you may one day decide to live there yourself.Just stop by the facility any day of your choice and request a personal tour by one of several staff members that will be more than happy and proud to accommodate you with.
Not a place I would want to put a family member. Why everyone should check into a home ahead of time.Talk to more than just the office staff.
Cool and calm place to take ur loved ones

DO NOT TAKE A LOVED THERE THAT IS TERMINAL AND EXPECT KINDNESS, CONSIDERATION OR PRIVACY TO APPROACH DEATH.
they should get zero stars. one star is way to good. The staff is mostly rude, unattentive and good luck getting anyone to answer the phone. My father has been waiting for weeks for someone to cut his toenails or help him use the telephone. They should be shut down and everyone's money should be refunded immediately so they can get the quality care they deserve. Green Country UNCARE Center is more like it.
My mother has been in Ambassador Manor for a year. I just transferred her back to her home state. When I got there to move her, she was in a different wheelchair. I was told she was given another one due to the weight she has gained. I asked for hers back. They were unable to find it. In one visit since the move, and multiple phone calls, I was told they could not find it. They told me that I could take the chair that she was sitting in, but I declined because it was rusty and worn out. I was told today that I could take another one, but I just want the one that legally belongs to her. Not returning her property is totally unacceptable. The chair did have an identification band on it. Because I do not have the model or serial number on her wheelchair, they said they cannot do anything. I don't have access to that information because she purchased it when she lived on her own, and is now unable to give me the information. I am very glad my mother is out of there.
My husband has been here for about a year. He is well cared for and is always clean. His medical is always cared for and I don't like the idea of him having to be there but he is in the best possible place for his care.
Iwas a resident at this home for two weeks, during which time, I had money and clothes stolen. The staff was not only extremely rude but poorly trained. I would not recommend this home to anyone wishing to place a loved onr in good hands.
This nursing home is a joke! It may look nice on the outside but on the inside the Med aids and nurse aids are worthless. Ive seen patients mistreated, unattended, neglected, both with Meds. and hygiene. They lack nursing help at night and on weekends. Most residents are dressed in rags. The Blankets sheets and towels are an embarrassment. Things are not sanitary and smell horrible! Please if you care about your loved ones, DO NOT send them there!
Great NH, Shirley the Administrator is always available. Jennifer the Nurse is very helpful. Staff is caring, it is a very family atmosphere.
My Dad has been a Resident there for a long time! Theres no greater staff and care.
