  • Oklahoma Methodist Manor, Inc. Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135

We recently had our father placed in the Methodist Manor Memory Care unit. The experience so far has been less than satisfactory and a two star rating is being generous. While most of the floor staff appears to perform at a satisfactory level, the level of mid and upper tier supervision and management is virtually non-existent. Visits to the unit by senior staff are rare and the level of supervisor involvement in day-to-day operations is questionable. Engaged supervisors (right up to the CEO) on a no-notice basis would go a long way in improving the quality of the facility and staff performance. In my opinion, attention to detail and consistency of care need serious attention.

  • Parks Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135

I can't thank Parks Edge and their excellent staff enough for the tender care that they gave my aunt during the last days of her life. The compassion and kindness extended to the family was exceptional, and it went a long way to make those very hard days a little more bearable.

  • The Villages at Southern Hills Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105

The other review is very obviously written by a staff member. In reality, yes, the facility is very nice, spacious, and clean. Walking in, The Villages look like a hotel. There is none of the odor or depressing vibe you get walking into a typical, old nursing home. Primarily it has to do with the fact that the facility is new. Any new building is an advantage when it comes to atmosphere and cleanliness. For that, The Villages get points.

My father was in the skilled nursing wing for about 2 months. While he was not neglected, he often had to wait an hour or two for assistance with getting up, or getting to the bathroom. If it wasn't for the fact that my mother tried to be present day and night, he might not have fared so well. More than once, she noticed people calling for help, and being ignored for hours by the staff, particularly at night. When she tried to get a staff member to check on a neighbor of my dad's, the staff member looked huffy, and said something about that person always wanting something. Regardless of whether or not that is the case, that person deserved attention, especially since the staff member was just sitting at the desk down the hall. No one else was around. In any case, the calling for help was disturbing other residents.

I know my mother also had some problems getting the staff to properly dispense medication. At one point, they didn't even have one of my dad's medications in stock, and my mother had to get some out of his personal stock to fill in the time gap.

That being said, I have been in quite a few nursing homes, and they are what they are. If you have family and friends visiting a lot, you will fare better. If you don't, it's a matter of choosing based on Medicare ratings and reports or your own impression when you walk in. At least at The Villages, you feel like it's a nice place with generally pleasant people.

  • Green Country Care Center Tulsa, Oklahoma 74110

they should get zero stars. one star is way to good. The staff is mostly rude, unattentive and good luck getting anyone to answer the phone. My father has been waiting for weeks for someone to cut his toenails or help him use the telephone. They should be shut down and everyone's money should be refunded immediately so they can get the quality care they deserve. Green Country UNCARE Center is more like it.

  • Ambassador Manor Nursing Center Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136

My mother has been in Ambassador Manor for a year. I just transferred her back to her home state. When I got there to move her, she was in a different wheelchair. I was told she was given another one due to the weight she has gained. I asked for hers back. They were unable to find it. In one visit since the move, and multiple phone calls, I was told they could not find it. They told me that I could take the chair that she was sitting in, but I declined because it was rusty and worn out. I was told today that I could take another one, but I just want the one that legally belongs to her. Not returning her property is totally unacceptable. The chair did have an identification band on it. Because I do not have the model or serial number on her wheelchair, they said they cannot do anything. I don't have access to that information because she purchased it when she lived on her own, and is now unable to give me the information. I am very glad my mother is out of there.

  • Gracewood Health & Rehab Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135

This nursing home is a joke! It may look nice on the outside but on the inside the Med aids and nurse aids are worthless. Ive seen patients mistreated, unattended, neglected, both with Meds. and hygiene. They lack nursing help at night and on weekends. Most residents are dressed in rags. The Blankets sheets and towels are an embarrassment. Things are not sanitary and smell horrible! Please if you care about your loved ones, DO NOT send them there!
