Murderers just like life senior service its genocide
I admitted my mother to this facility August 6, 2015. On the 15th they had to file an Incident Report when we found a “grab and yank” handprint on her upper left arm. On the 19th they had to file another report when we found her left leg bruised from the knee to the ankle – no one was watching and the steel on her wheelchair was bruising her every time her leg rubbed against it. We installed a motion sensor video/audio camera in her room for her protection. September 13th the video shows an aide talking in front of mom to another aide “I been praying that they get this one out of here quick” mom responding “For what? Get who out? ME?” January 15th 2016, the video shows two aides dropping mom onto the bed from about 8” off the bed – she has spinal degeneration, it was deemed an “accident”, even though they were laughing the whole time. On February 12th, 2016 the same two aides hit her head against the wall as they get her into bed … another “accident”? March 19th, 2017she was left out of the room from 5:46am until my cousin brought her back into the room at 2:00pm (over 8 hours sitting in her wheelchair without being toileted). She was so weak the aide couldn’t manage her in the restroom and her hand was caught in the guard rail, tearing off the skin on her hand. March 21st, 2016 I received a call saying they had found small blisters on her thighs, like a coffee burn. When I photographed them the next day they covered both sides from her knees down to her middle calves. (a burn expert later said they were 2nd degree and turned 3rd degree by the 3rd day). On March 25th, 2016 hospice was called in and said she was in the active stages of dying. On March 27th, 2016 we found a 3” bedsore on her tailbone. On March 31st, 2016 my mother passed away. Every statement is backed up by video and photographs.
this used to be my home. after upper management let me down and did not honor my residual rights after voicing abuse incident in my room.i moved next day to different facility. new facility took care of much neglected rectal impaction. and my pain is now under control. idid not feel welcome and feared relaliation at cimmaron point. the state willbe looking into this. if you have a loved one in this facilty please check on them daily am a91 year old bed-ridden hospice patient with not much life expectancy. thr power of attorney and my advocates
We have had our mother there for a while. The nurses are very nice. It is fairly clean. The food is not good as it should be. There is little for the patients to do, so they are bored.
My mother has been in Higher Call for 8 years. She loves it there. Everyone has a private room which was very important to her. I visited other nursing homes in the area and checked out 1) cleanliness 2) how friendly was the staff as well as checking online for ratings. I found Higher Call had the highest average rating in the area and now I know why. It doesn't smell and Mom is happy and well taken care of. They have a Chaplain that visits and prays with her. It is a lovely facility and feels like a home and not an institution. It is also quiet. Some that I visited were so loud I wondered how anyone could rest. I'm convinced Higher Call is the best. By a Daughter who cares.
This is the nastiest and worst place I have ever encontered. Its a forgotten tiny town with this as the only job. It is not clean, the rooms are concrete block rooms not designed for hospital or Nursing home use. I will do everything I can to get this place shut down. The owners are just milking money from the government and not spending it on the people or building. They should be in prison!
My father was brought to this place by doctors orders for a short term rehabilitation…. ( my father is diabetic and has dialesis every other day he had his right leg half amputated there for he needs rehabilitation)….. This has been a nightmare since day one. They do not pay any attention to them at all ,the patients have to look for the nurses for help….I was visiting my father on Saturday…..I was there with him for 4 hours not once did they come to check on him…..he has asked for help my mother has begd them to help they never helped him AT ALL!!!!!! My father was unresponsive I called to this place because they would not help my mother when she was explaning to them he would not respond so I drove over there and on my way called many times I would get hung up on finally some one had the dignity to answer I told them to go see him they just kept teling me he is ok he will get over it I hung up and called EMSA my sealf to go get my dad and bring him to the hospital……please don't put your love ones through a nightmare like my parents had to go through!!!!!!! (There is way more that happen but to list them all I would have to write a book……be carefull) P.S this happens in a time span of less than a month of him being at this death house!!!! My father is in back at the hospital now because of the neglect of this people…….they do not help housekeeping does not exist in this place the patients have to clean and take out own trash they don't bathe anyone at all…..the place smells horrible. …..
This is the worst place to have your family members…..the people at this place do NOT CARE ABOUT OUR LOVED ONES AT ALL!!!!!!! Please do not bring them here and if you have them all ready at this place if you have any kind of love or compasión for them take them with you or look for a better place for them…My father was brought to this place by doctors orders for a short term rehabilitation…. Very competent and caring staff. My mother was placed here after a sudden illness which required surgery. We admitted her to the therapy unit for physical and occupational therapy and to get stronger in order to return to her home. She stayed approximately 4 weeks and was cared for extremely well. She loved the food, the facility was clean and had no odors, her room was comfortable and quiet. We would certainly recommend this facility to anyone in need!
Great place with excellent staff. Took good care of my mom.
To me as someone who lives in this nursing home, I love it. I have been here just over two years now. And while I wish I didn't need this place I am so glad it is here. It has liitterly saved my life. I would recommend it to anyone.

What a disappointment! My father moved to Epworth Villa independent living about three years ago. I was very supportive of the move, it seemed like a good choice and a top notch facility. What a joke! After his move they started a huge addition with mean that a) interior access was cut off from fitness facilities; b) food was served on paper plates with an very limited menu. My father dealt with this for six months (the addition took longer than planned). When he passed away in May 2015, nothing had changed, Epworth was still not delivering on their promises, and the whole atmosphere of the place was negative and toxic. If your loved one is considering Epworth, don't!
This place has had a very bad reputation for a long time, but we took a tour because my grandmother needed a place to recover before going home when she left the hospital. We were surprised that a separate part of the building has been completely renovated and designed for patients who need physical therapy to be able to go home. The renovated portion is beautiful and clean. We decided to give it a chance and can't be happier. My grandmother loved her stay and her rehab there so much that she didn't want to leave when it was time to go home! Really good therapy people there that know what they are doing and helped my grandmother get back home again. The old nursing home is unacceptable but this new renovated section is wonderful and I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs rehab after the hospital to get back home like my grandmother!
I sent my Mother who was a resident for only 3 days a $1000 worth of clothes I purchased at Macy's in Corpus Christi, Texas. And the employees took it on them selves to take a black magic marker and wrote in 2" long letters her name on the back of the clothes. They all had price tags on them and some tops cost $75 each. I would not recommend this place to anyone. who has respect for their loved ones or their personal belongings. I would have had her initials monogramed on each piece instead of having them destroyed in this manor. This makes me wonder how my mother will be treated. She can never wear these clothes in public with out looking like she is 2 years old, or us looking like idiots for letting her go into public dressed that way.. She is only there for 45 to 60 days. I do not recommend this place. What are they doing to her when we are not there.
This used to be a terrific facility with a caring staff, but under the new ownership the staffing has been cut so dramatically that it takes 25 minutes to get someone to answer a call button. It's not the aides' fault. With 20+ patients being cared for by two or three aides, there's no way they can do their job properly. The aides are all leaving and it's such a shame.
The care that my family received while at South Park East was great. The staff is wonderful, caring and very professional. My husband, father and I grew to love the staff like family. Our mom/ his wife received excellent care during her stay with SPE. I am so blessed to have found this facility and they bless her and us also.
Thank you South Park East.
Excellent compassionate care.
Very nice place and Friendly people
I love this home!
This place should be shut down. Dont send your family here.
My Mom was here for less than a month before she died. She was in the last stages of cancer. There was lots of management and staff running around during the day, Less people sometimes hiding out using cellphones at night and weekends. The care seemed more focused on being effiecient to the detrement of individual patient care. A people warehouse. Staff and our Hospice Care didn't get along and staff suggested we should change to their affilliated Hospice.
Mom labeled the staff as "cold". Once she waited 2 1/4 hours for an authorized as needed pain medication. She developed a bed sore after 21 days here. They had been reported as having minor problems with "Assist those residents who need help with eating/drinking, grooming and personal and oral hygiene". We experienced those problems still.
I expected more from a full-care nursing home.
Less than 1 star rating. Mis-diagnosised resident. Treated for pneumonia and had a massive plural effusion that required 4 different thoracentisis to resolve. Care was received after leaving the facility. Resident was to be on a low sodium diet and that was never followed. The nursing staff directed the care. The doctor only "covered" orders. I don't think the doctor ever saw the resident the 30 days he was there. Misleading statements about what was covered by Medicare and what was co-pay. Failed to bill Medicare supplement and read information about insurance that has be provided to them multiple times. The bed was worn-out and sunken in. Suspect Medicare fraud as the resident was far more debilitated when he left the "rehab" than when he was admitted.
My mother developed bed sores and was dehydrated at The Barnsdall Nursing Home, which did not discover this ailments until she fell out of a broken wheelchair. She died a few months later.
This place sucks
Paid cash for service for 2 months because of new medicare laws. Now can't get help with information for taxes. Mom had her second stroke in 3 years, the CNA's told me they preferred for the residents to do things alone even though she could not walk and was very confused. She thought the male CNA was a rapist.
