I worked one day at this home. I could hardly stand the smell. I was orienting as a new nurse . The nursing staff looked very unhappy at this place. I wondered why til I had to ask a question to the D.O.N. I never in my life experienced such rudness. To top it off , she yelled at me as if I was a child! All I asked is if we can discuss my new work schedule. Stay away from this place. It's like they are under a dark cloud or something. Everyone is sad and unhappy there. After reviewing the options for nursing homes in our area, we decided to visit Bridgeway Christian Village and decided that it was a comfortable, yet affordable, option for my mom. However, that was about as good as it got.

The staff at this nursing home is either severely understaffed or lazy. When we first arrived at the facility, it took the staff two full hours before they acknowledged her arrival. We then requested a Hoyer lift for her to be transported to bed. It took them over 45 minutes to locate the only functioning lift in the entire facility, a machine that should be readily available in a nursing home. The only time you'll see a nurse is if medication is needed (most are LPN). The PCA has to cover the entire floor, so my mom needed to sit in her urine or feces for at least an hour because no one answered the call light. She developed bed sores because only family or our caregiver would help her roll over in bed.

Soon after she arrived at the facility, the head physical therapist wanted to see if she could walk. We repeatedly told him that she couldn't walk, but he claimed that he was a "doctor" and knew what he was doing. Without even testing her muscle strength, three physical therapists tried standing her up. In trying to move her to the commode by standing, they gave her several bruises and a cut on her leg. We have photo and video evidence of this abuse.

My mom was in this home for a few months, and it was the worst decision I've ever made. She died of septic shock, most likely due to the bed sore. If family wasn't there on a daily basis, she wouldn't have even lived that long.

Forest View has been very helpful, considerate of my mothers needs. My mom can be very stubborn at times. They call me about everything - pills if they have to change them. They keep me well informed about everything she does or whatever happens to her.

This is a five star rehab and the people working there are 5 stars as well! The people are so friendly and truly caring. The therapists are truly concerned about why the patient is there. Private rooms with spacious bathrooms and walk in showers! We loved it there. Definitely would recommend to everyone I know.

Very well maintained rehab and nursing home. The staff at the facility is amazing and always treat the residents with dignity and respect. I go everyday to visit my Mom and every patient is treated well. Very clean, residents are clean. I would highly recommend Elmbrook. I would give 10 stars if it were possible. The employees are the best and extremely nice and helpful.

I have been in this facility several times when one of my relations was in there care. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN , it is dirty, smells bad, rooms are a joke with holes in the walls, bathrooms that have tile missing on the floor where eurine collects and smells, the majoity of the staff are from the Philippines and cannot speak or understand english, residents set in there eurine or poo waiting for a CNA to help them, they are totally understaffed they need nurses who quit because of having to take care of up to 18 or 20 patients, this is a joke the same with the CNA;S . I have spoken with there customer rep. about the problems and was told the Director Chris C. will not listen to any problems like they will go away, he cuts you off when you try to bring this to his attention, he is afraid of his job, as there is a big turnover in directors, also maintenance is lacking in all the residents rooms, they need to take a walk true each floor or dept. the outside of the building looks the same as it gives you the impression when you drive up that it is dirty inside. I would call medicare and the state to make a visit to them but not to notify them so they can see the condition of this place. It should be shut down.

Tried to do Zero stars but wouldn't accept. Loved one died after a direct result of falling out of wheelchair where they were supposed to have been watched. No accountability whatsoever.

Like the 3 monkeys - no one saw, no one heard, no one knew.

Preposterous.

I wouldn't put a human being (or an animal, for that matter) in this facility. Too short handed, too much turnover, most aides have no work ethic and the ones that do couldn't leave fast enough.

My wife had to be sent to Hinsdale Hosp at 5am jan.4th.When she was admitted in ICU and checked out the nurses were appalled at the condition she was in,including feces not cleaned,dehydrated,Puss in the uretha,and thick urine.

All the many times she had her wet diaper changed no one ever checked the urine and just put it in the garbage.These are only a few things that happened during her 2 month stay. The onlyprofessional staff were her therapists and were especially good at their job.

This place is horrible! They are understaffed all the time, the management there (especially the DON) is extremely disrespectful to their staff. The CNAs and Nurses are over worked and they can't keep many people i there consistently. The turn over rate is high because of the poor management. So in return of the lack of staff, the residents are not taken care of the way they should be. The only time they are is when the family is present. I would honestly look for another place to bring your loved ones if you care about them.

What is the role of a rehab and nursing facility? Is it to medicate patients into a zombie-like state for the comfort and ease of the staff and address their depression by providing them with a daily diet of monotony mixed with boredom and antidepressants? Or is its role to provide for the security and physical and social needs of the resident. Understanding that this facility is grossly understaffed and has a frequent turnover of employees, does not excuse the administration from meeting the basic needs of their clients. Although the staff is friendly, the place is dirty and the patients are not bathed routinely. Social services personnel are inattentive to the patients’ well-being and best interests.

The reson i'm writing this,is because the nurses have to many patients to take care of they are way understaffed,18to 28 patients per nurse is just carzy,i don't blame the nursing staff,i blame the person who run's the nursing home,They get a lot of money but the wrong people are being payed way to much for the job they do,more money sould go towards nursing and patients care,not to the person behind the desk,this place is way understaffed,smells because there's not many people to help them,there needs something to be done ASAP because one day youll be old and be like that,think about,it hurts my heart to see patients not taking care of the right way because ,someone is being over payed for doing notthing,THE PATIENT COMES FRIST,until things change i would like famliys see the place to make up there mind if they would like there loved one live like that!!!!!!!

I will be Filing a complaint or Grievance,very soon with Medicare very soon if action is not taking soon,before anone wants to put there loved one there they sould check the place out,they shower the person when they want,i've watched staff talking in the hall way to other staff when the person is in bed sitting in his own poo and urine for at least a hour and this goes on in the day,i really wonder what happens at night there,i wold not e surprised if they sleep somewhere,they get payed by medicare and public aid to do a job,we as tax payers,pay for that,it's a shame because most of the ppl there have no Family or someone to do something about it i'm writing this letting ppl know there can be done something with Filling a Complaint with the state and Nursng Homes in Illinois they have there own website and question you can answer,i think really a health inspector sould be called to look at the place without them knowing there coming,drop in on them before they can clean the place,when it comes to old ppl i care a lot,it's a shame not everyone thinks this way,i hope someone see this and feels the same way i do,i'm letting you all know that something can be done and i will do everything in my power to do it,This place sould not even be rated at one star,they also are under staffed and i know they can get more staff to work there they have the money don't let them fool you by telling you other wise !!!!!!!!!!
