Do not take your family here! Worse place ever….

From their Social Workers down to their Activities Program. Transferred my loved one to SoCal Post Acute Care a much better and loving facility!

Very little negative to this nursing homes, suggest to enforce check out in front entrance.

Orchard has made pretty updates from its past as Royal Court, still basic things are needed. Staff know the heating system is not predictable, ask an administrator about no heat in the room and it's always the first time they've heard about it. They offer more blankets, but how can a patient go to therapy covered in in blankets?

Some staff are well trained, many CNA's are not careful enough with frail elderly, I watched while my mom was banged by a lift and ultimately dropped from the lift onto her bed.

We had an horrible experience at another nursing home and that is the reason we were reluctant to put my mother in a nursing home again. But SoCal just replaced all those bad thoughts with good ones. All the staff were very caring and sincere. Management team is very much involve, they know their patients and they treat each and everyone of them as family. Nurses are very patient with us especially answering our questions and they're very good at what they do. I can't thank them enough for what they did to our family. We have to visit soon, we miss all the smiling faces. SoCal keep doing what you do best, keep up the good work!!! See you all soon!

My Grandfather was a patient at the Orchard for over two months, and I couldn't be more pleased with the treatment he has been given. The CNAs are excellent, I havent found one that I don't care for. The Charge Nurses are also very good, they are attentive and are on top of things. The place is kept clean and tidy, they are constantly cleaning things there. My Grandfather also says that the food is good, and the staff always makes sure that you have a meal that you like. I do have one problem with the Orhard, the air conditioning in his room has been broken for over a month now and I have been asking them to fix it since then. All in all though the Orchard has been wonderful, everything has been great on their end and I would reccommend it to anyone.

Lookimg into a nursing home was something that I have never done before.I had no idea what to do,.I just knew that my two Aunts could no longer take care of themselves. I was greeted by the Administrator Rich. He took us on a tour of the facility. I did not make an appointment nor did I call ahead, they did not know I was coming and the first thing I noticed was it was very clean. The smell of popcorn was amazing!!! It looked as though there was a lot of fun activities going on. Rich explained everything in detail from their care to financial information I felt very confident that this would be a great place for my 2 Aunts to live.

My Aunts were very reluctant to move away from the only home that they knew which made it difficult for me. When they arrived we were greeted by Anna, the Admissions Coordinator. Anna made sure every detail was in place. She made us feel very welcome. My Aunts are settled into their new home. and the care that they are recieving is outstanding. Carla the Scial Service Director makes sure that my Aunts have plenty to do and are getting dressed everyday and socializing. The Dietician makes sure my Aunt has her fresh fruit and jello with her meals. The RN Manager, Penne is so nice and always keeps me up to date on my Aunts progress. Elizabeth makes my friends and family feel very welcome when we visit. We call her "Queen Elizabeth" Jerome always makes sure my Aunts are comfortable. All the LVN's I so appreciate, their's is not an easy job. The Case Manager invites me to her meetings and keeps me informed of the care plan The staff at The Orchard have made this experience very pleasant and I recommend The Orchard to all families who struggle to make the decision to put a loved one when the time is right into a home. The Orchard was absolutely the right choice. ---- Nancy Campbell

I'd rather die than go back to this place!!!! I spent 3 months there to recover and it was the worst 3 months of my life. Felt like I was in hell. Horrible place

Feel very fortunate to have selected SoCal for my father's care. Word of mouth led me there and I was not disappointed. Small and friendly, SoCal made my mother and I feel confident that my dad would be cared for physically and emotionally. The entire staff knew him by name and made sure to treat him with respect and kindness.

No one wants to leave a loved one in a facility away from home, but I can honestly say that my mother and I could go home knowing that Dad was being taken care of by people who genuinely cared about him. It gave us great peace.

Would highly recommend this facility to anyone. Renette Alder McNeil

I do believe it was the best of all possible options, short of coming home. The level of care they provide is excellent Thanks to new ownership and new standards, OUTSTANDING! I would and have recommended.

This place provides nothing but the best care!!! I would never hesitate to bring my mom here again because they treated her like their own loved one! Nurses are very knowledgable and very caring.

This is one of the best homes around-. We had to put my grandma (98)in So. Cal a month ago 12/29/11 the staff and help were great they made sure my grandma was comfortable. Thry also are very friendly and they take good care of those in the home. The home is up to date and decorated beautifully and so warm feeling. I highly recommend it. Tricia Stone

This is the most wonderful nursing home/rehab facility in Whittier! The rehab staff are very knowledgable, professional and get good results. The nursing staff, social worker and managers are all caring, practice excellent medical care and it is the only place I would have my parents stay. Thank you SoCal for caring and being like family.

I was at this facility when it was Royal Court. The CNA's were wonderful and always came within a short period of time when I rang the button. I only have one complaint. I was sent there from PIH and they did NOT have me sign any paperwork until I had been there for 7 days and only then that I find out I was responsible for a co-pay for the first 20 days of being there. Had I known that, I would have only stayed for a few days until I found someone to help me at home. I hope the new people will find a way to take care of this problem……I don't see any reason why it should take so long to admit someone.
