Review of The Heights on Huebner

The physical therapy offered here was very good and the therapist are compassionate, knowledgeable and helpful. They are the only reason we did not look for another facility during my mother's 4 week stay.

When my mother arrived, I was under the impression that long term care patients and skilled nursing patients were in different wings, that was not the case. Every wing has both skilled and long term patients.

The nursing staff and aids were overall good but took a long time to respond to most request made by my mother (sometimes 15-20 minutes.) In my opinion, they are short staffed. I was told we would have weekly updates with the social worker, in four weeks we had 2. I was surprised on the second update they told me she was going to be released in a week. I was also told they were only required to give "48 hours notice" upon a patients release, so beware of this unknown to most consumers!

Upon release, my mother could not have been happier!! I was handed a bag full of medications & insulin (which I had never administered) and we were sent on our way.

She has been out now for over a week and no one from the facility has called to make sure everything was okay, thought that was odd, even my dentist calls to make sure everything went well the day after a procedure. This place is very busy, so if your family member needs or wants a little more help, find another place! The admin staff was nice & the activities coordinator was a breath of fresh air to the residents.
