This is not a nice place. Patients are just roaming around, the rooms are

very small , with each of two patients haveing about 10x15 feet of space. Other patients are allowed to wander around and enter

patients rooms at will. There doesn't appear to be any supervision. The

food is disgusting and the recreation room is a big open, very basic room,

with uncomfortable looking furniture. Staff was sitting around chatting and

seemed to be nice enough to the patients but not really interested in anyreal constructive interaction with patients

I only give this nursing home 1 star and even that is generous. I felt that some of the staff did not care about my loved one, complained how hard it was to take care of my loved one, ignored other patients needing help. Often I would end up helping patients to their tables because they were being ignored by the staff. Once I had to guide a man in wheel chair away from the exit door to stop him from possibly going down a flight of stairs if he had opened it successfully while the receptionists just sat there not paying attention. If you are able to get around on your own or totally bed-ridden you are fine. Once you require some extra care, the staff tells you that caring for your loved one is "too hard" for them. Maybe some of the staff should seek other employment where they don't need to show compassion for the elderly and not have to do work that is so hard for them.

Run away! I had my mom stay here for a week and a half because she was non weight bearing and wasn't safe to be in her home environment. I don't even know where to start. The office manager doesn't even know how to fill out paperwork. Not one nurse did their job. The aids complained when my mom had to go to the bathroom. She was up with assist and they made her use a bedpan because they were lazy and didn't want to get her up. The Dr. ordered a UA and the aide just left the urine on top of the toilet just sitting there and never collected the specimin. I made a special trip up there to drop off my moms new physical therapy script and watched the nurse make a copy and she lost it so when therapy needed the script it was lost and not in the chart so my mom didn't get her therapy. The food is so horrible. I want to complain to state that they need to make a visit. Ice is in a cooler by the nurses station and it had dirty debris at the bottom! Fruit flies are eating at your meals as your are eating! It looks like a sanitoriam. Hasn't been updated in at least 4 decades! If you care for your loved ones…do not send them here! I didn't know it was this bad…I yanked mom out before she was scheduled to leave!

My moher was in Benchmark for 2and a half months she was in the hospic part and she recieved very good care and the nurses and the ades were just great . Nothing like this can be perfect but I felt as she came to the end this group of people were close.

My mother was in this facility for almost 10 months. She was in a lot of pain most of the time she lived there. Although there were some minor things that we had concerns about, the staff and management were always happy to meet with us and help discuss our problems. During the last few weeks of my mother's life, I cannot tell you nice everyone was to our family and how they did everything in there power to keep my mother comfortable. This is an older facility, but it is kept clean and always decorated for holidays. There are always activities to attend, and everyone that works with these seniors are friendly and try very hard to give the residents some joy in their daily lives.

My grandfather is in this facility. He absolutely loves it. Everyone is so friendly and willing to do anything for him. There are so many fun activities for the residents. They always have something to do. When I bring my kids to visit him they are accomodating to them also and have things for them to do. The colors and bright and cheerful all around the facility and it is always decorated beautifully for each holiday. The nurses are very thoughtful and do their best to answer call lights as quickly as possible. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

I would give this facility a negative star rating if possible. My experience: The nursing staff seemed completely unaware and uninterested in resident's needs. Nurses and aides did not interact with resident enough, or review medical history enough, to know resident was in pain constantly and needed all pain meds doctor made available. I should have checked chart constantly for proper meds ordered, amount ordered, amount given. Personal needs were barely met. Bathroom assistance was needed…unsatisfactory…long wait times, many times left to sit in soaked clothing for hours. Management would appear concerned, but apparently had no real concern for resident. Large bruises reported…totally dismissed by management. Repeated reports to management were either dismissed or given lip service and no real change. Even though you are told you can call in any time, after the receptionist leaves (generally 8:00 pm) the phone rolls over to the floor phones. They rarely answer. I was "tipped off" that they have caller ID, and they just don't answer if they don't want to…they're busy with the residents if questioned. Management repeatedly "will check into it"…no changes. To get in after hours, you must ring the doorbell and wait for someone to let you in. I would suggest some late evening visits! Instructions to call if there were ANY problems or concerns with the resident, 24/7, were not followed, on more than one occasion. Facilities are old, so rooms and bathrooms are small, making it difficult to maneuver around the room, especially if the resident is in a wheelchair.

Clean beautiful facility in a nice quiet setting. Resident care is exellent, staff is friendly. I enjoy the birds and outdoor courtyards.

Resident care is openly done only when inspections are due. ADON is rude and has no people skills what so ever with employees or residents. He is unfair in his judgments and uses his position only to benefit himself.
