West Woods of Niles Niles, Michigan 49120

My mother was sent there for rehab after surgery on her wrist. Here are some of many complaints:

1) Tied her to an alam in a wheel chair and the bed. Was not allowed to get up by herself, even though she was capable.

2) When call light is turned on, it takes FOREVER for someone to respond, yet I am told they are overstaffed, not understaffed.

3) The food is horrible, small amounts served and quality very low.

4) Mother admitted on Monday, not seen by doctor, or nurse practicioner, until Thursday.

5) Given medicated patch when it had been removed at the hospital.

6) Did not give her hearing aids until late morning. One day, she NEVER got them.

7) Twice they dressed her without a bra!

I could go on and on. Please don't put a loved on in West Woods. We were there every day. I can't imagine how she would have been ignored if we weren't.

In fairness, the staff was friendly, just not attentive.

The physical theraphy was good, and my mom loved Joe. But, they did not teach her how to dress with one arm, and do normal day-to-day with just one arm.

Nice facility with a good staff. My 80 year old mother was there for 3 weeks of rehab, the physical therapists did a good job and were focused on getting her back to 100% as soon as possible but didn't push it too much. The staff overall was very helpful and caring, we didn't have to worry about her well being at all. Only negative is the food is ok but not great, they should try to improve the quality of it, but overall as nursing homes go it's well run, professional and clean.

Silverbrook Manor is under new management which is working hard to improve patient care and an overall facility/staff makeover. During our Mother's stay we had a terrible tragedy in our family which resulted in a death; Silverbrook was extremely helpful with any and all our needs. The staff here went above and beyond to accommodate our family. Silverbrook's staff worked with our family and provided us with accommodations to stay with our Mother for several nights and anything else we needed. The therapy staff was helpful in working with our Mother to gain strength. Thank you. The nursing, CNA's, and management staff were all helpful and supportive to our Mother and our family. Thank you admissions and business office for putting up with all my questions, you were very helpful! Thank you again Silverbrook for all your help and concern.

I think Silverbrook is a great place. That is only because there are people who love God who own and run it. They have turned it around

Riveridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center Niles, Michigan 49120

Riveridge is a great clean facility that feels like home. It is not a facility that wows you with there look of the building but the staff is always happy and very caring. I decided on Riveridge because I would rather have good care than a pretty building and I am glad I made that choice. Their rehab group is excellent and gets people on their feet and back home. I would recommend it to anyone looking for there loved one.
