This is a Great facility although the very first day I was not impressed by its appearance (mom's room walls are all scratched up with areas where the walls have pieces of dry wall broken) and lack of staff available. Since it was Sunday I figured there are less staff scheduled to work there. I will state the Nursing staff was much better the following day. I have seen caring staff and lots of help with mom. Great customer service from all the staff. Overall I would recommend this location. The facility was recommended by many other friends and I feel I made a good decision by bringing my mom here for her temporary stay and recovery.

I DO NOT recommend Parkside Villa. Mom was there for rehab after surgery. She also has dementia and was in another facility prior to Parkside Villa. The staff ignored all concerns the family had regarding safety and health. The social worker actually said mom is competent. I raised numerous concerns about leg wound. I finally had enough and demanded a doctor examin my mom. I told the Adminstratior, Director of Nursing, Social worker that they either have a doctor examin mom or I was calling 911 for ambulance to take my mom to hospital to be examined. Due to several other instances I was documenting all visits with mom. Because I was video recording the Adminstratior called 911 and had police remove me. Well 9 days later mom was admitted to the hospital with a raging 103 fever, pneumonia and leg infection…YES the very same leg I kept begging parkside Villa to have a doctor examin. This is just one of many instances. Parkside Villa was more concerned about covering their butts than takng care of mom. Please DO NOT place a loved one Parkside Villa!!

My mother was in this facility, and it was the worst experience of our lives. I was there daily and witnessed neglect, and indifference in the nursing staff, I felt so sorry for the people who had no family to watch out for them, and how they were ignored.

The most decent person there was the lady that cleaned the floors, she was very caring. My mother would tell me of the things they did when I was gone, and I witnessed do much with my own eyes. After complaining to the director, nothing changed, had I not been there to assist and watch over her, I know her treatment would have been worse, we pulled her out.

This review does not include the physical therapy staff, who are like a separate entity, they were very good.

This place is NASTY……Ice chest in the hallways for patients…Beds are all malfunctioning/mattress are old and ragged.The floors have not been vacummed in 2 weeks…..Do they know what a mop is for???? The doors are wide open after the sign says enter code ---at 10:30pm I just walked in…..Never challanged.

This place is so under staffed ---not freindly at all. Staff members were very defensive and rude when asked simple questions. The dinning room still had plates, cups, food on the table - 10:30pm……

The staff --when they respond to phone calls - are very good at pushing off on somebody else has the answer ----not responsible or compassionate.

APS had come in to assess my Aunt 2 years ago and determined she needed to be in an assisted living facility where there were nurses on site and 3 meals a day provided. This was supported by the State of Ohio Cuyahoga Country Magistrate. They said this was for her well-being.

My Aunt missed her lunch meal today and when she went to ask if she could get something to eat they told her 'no', that she missed the meal and that they would not provide anything. Why is the State of Ohio not monitoring Larchwood Village Retirement to ensure that the residents are not being punished for missing a meal? I am so angry that they are letting her go hungry!!!!!

Someone should be disciplined for this irresponsible action. Are they understaffed or do they just not care!!

I concur 100% with the previous review posted February 20th 2017. A large percentage of the staff behave in an unprofessional manner and are either unable or unwilling to provide quality care. 20 minutes to answer a call button is very common. Never seem to have enough staff to provide adequate personal care, yet often see 2-3 congregating and socializing at nurses station. It's normal to see (personal) cell phones in use by nurses and aides while on duty. It's hard to tell who is who because of the numerous colors and prints of the "scrubs" being worn. Name tags, if worn at all, are backwards and unreadable. Meals are served lukewarm at best, incomplete, and visually unappealing. Residents who are bed-bound & need assistance to eat are usually left to fend for themselves. Privacy & dignity of residents is not maintained as I have seen residents being assisted in the bathrooms with room doors wide open allowing anyone who walks by to observe what should be a very private situation. Very new facility overall but hallways regularly smell intensely of urine & have stains on carpet.

It doesn't appear that anyone is "in charge" or supervising the aides, especially in the evening & night. Questions to aides are routinely answered with a shrug of the shoulders and blank stare. Personal care activities that should be documented to ensure completion in timely scheduled intervals are not. Medical care? What medical care? Doctor's orders are routinely not followed. Calls to DON are either not returned at all or are responded to by a subordinate.

I am attesting to my own personal observations.

This facility was appointed divinely, by God.(fact) Since(2009) approximately my Mom's residency, I have been completely satisfied with her care. Of course there often times will be pros and cons to every situation and facilities; however, I have been very pleased with my mother's care. I have been notified of any health, falls if one should occur, or any concerns regarding my mom. My mom is very comfortable at Crawford Manor. She has made a few friends since residing there. The staff has been wonderful to her……Each year, the facility has worked tirelessly to keep the smell of odor down with great success. Over the past several weeks the facility has been undergoing redecorating with new flooring, paint and furniture. .. my mom's is a resident at Crawford Manor

Highland Pointe is terrible due to the response time and level of care given to the residents. Must wait sometimes 20 minutes for an aide to come when the assist button is pushed. Most not all are rude and not very compassionate to the residents. Nurses are very nice and knowledgeable but they can not control the aides. The in house Dr, well lets just say you wouldn't accept this level of service from your physician on the outside but you are stuck once in there. Sorry not much nice to say the performance of the overall facility is severely lacking and I was told due to call offs and short staffed continually. Meals sometimes cold and served from trays due to shirt staff and cooks that call off. Not a pleasant experience and I would not recommend this facility.

This nursing home has poor care. They have sent one of their residents/patients out for an appointment in soiled clothes with colostomy and urostomy bags leaking as well. She could barely bare her own weight. When we called to complain and insist that this patient be accompanied for her following appointments they showed little to no interest in what happened. I would like to rate this facility with NO STARS!!! This is a neglect case and we WILL be calling the elderly neglect line! They are also giving us the run around and will not connect us to the DON! Very poor attitudes from all staff that was spoken to on the phone!

Solon Pointe was more than what I expected. The staff was friendly, caring, and courteous. Rooms were large and offered private bathrooms with showers. The facility felt more like a hotel than a nursing home.

Everyone should know what a great place this is! I went in for rehab after a hospitalization and received excellent care and fantastic therapy from the rehab staff. Everything was clean, the staff were friendly and I was able to go home much sooner than anticipated and live alone again!

My mother was a resident at cedarwood plaza, i knew what the stars was before taking my mother there. I went to visit the facility, I did not make a appointment either I just went. To my surprise the building was nice and clean . The staff I met from the time I entered the building was professional. The mangement team was open and nice. I toured the facility and was impressed. The care my mother received was excellent and the therapy department , well you could have not asked for a more knowledgeable and caring team. Well it was just an excellent experience. I think a person should go see a facility and not rely on stars to tell the story. I say this because I visited several facilities some were 5 stars but I choose cedarwood because it felt like home!

Everyone complains about how bad the administrator is with her bad attitude. Staff seems real nice until the family's leave. Workers are rude to their residents putting them in the bath room and leaving them there. Their laundry is horrible. No one ever smiles. Employees are treated like garbage. Don't send your loved ones there or you'll be sorry.

cedarwood plaza is horrible would not recommend to any one this is from experience I had with them with a family member their food is a horrible, understaffed adiminstrat or rude not very clean just bad that will tell you a good lie trying to get you in their that's it.

Lack of staff, the staff rotates, not given the patient time to know there caregiver they staff does not get to know the patient and there needs. They are always look ing up the notes to see what is going on with the patient. I feel some of the assistant really cared about my loved one. and other are no so much, i felt a few handled my loved one rough and not with care. I would not recomment this facility to anyone.

The staff is not knowledgeable,they either take a long time to answer a call light or not at all. The smell of urine hits you the moment you get to the elevators and the nurse aides always deposit bed pads in the room trash instead of a separate container and out of the room. They often will not answer the question of a resident even if he or she is not suffering from dementia. They do not seem to check on residents at least every two hours. I'm amazed they got a four star rating and wonder who got paid off during the inspections.

I finally insisted they call EMS, she had a perforated bowel and passed away 4days later. Just because it's a "pretty" facility, doesn't guarantee good care at all.

Why is one star the lowest??? Manor Care Parma is NOT worthy of a half star or any portion of a Star. They are actually negative in the star department. I would like to state my complaints but the list is over a mile long. It is also very painful for me to discus the specifics because my Mother is no longer with after the neglect and abuse of Manor Care.

This facility is great in rehab but the employees within the facility lack communication which make a chaotic environment for residents coming in doing rehab for a short term period of time. There is very little communication from shift to shift with STNA, social work and nursing staff. If this were improved it could be a better place for both residents and staff. There would be less confusion and people would transition home in a better state of mind. It would decrease chance of resident returning to hospital or rehab center.
