My mother was in this nursing for awhile. Her medications were allowed to run out several times for days at a time. She had to have serious surgery, and when she was admitted to the hospital, she was found to have a very swollen, bruised knee. When asked about it, she told us that she had fallen at the nursing home. No one notified me, nor was any medical treatment administered. We noticed that my mom was coughing very badly. We asked 2 nurses to check on her and the both said that they would -neither did. That night we finally got a nurse to check on her and she was found to have a fever, and was wheezing badly. Breathing treatments were ordered as needed. One cay she was wheezing so badly, and when I asked the nurse about it, she told me that the treatment was ordered PRN, and that mom hadn't asked for a treatment. Mom was too ill to know to ask for a treatment, and the nurse just didn't give it. PRN means as needed, not as asked for. When she first went to the nursing home she was in a nice sized semiprivate room. We were told that she was going to be moved to another room temporarily while the hall she was on was remodeled. She was moved to a semiprivate room that was so small that there was no way to put a chair for a visitor to sit. I spoke to the social worker and told her that I wasn't at all pleased with the room, and asked how long remodeling would take. The social worker told us that there was no remodeling, that mom would be in that room permanently! I talked with the administrator and told her that we were very unpleased! I told her how small the room was. She told us that the rooms were the same size! I asked the administrator to come and see the room, and she refused!!! In my opinion, this is not a good nursing home at all. We have now moved my mom into a very nice nursing home where she is well cared for. I would NEVER want to see someone I love in Roswell Nursing Home and Rehab

My mom was in this nursing home, and I was very unhappy with the care she got. She has glaucoma, and her medications were allowed to run out several times, and it took days to get them in. She just had some very serious surgery, and when we got her to the hospital, the nurse found her knee to be very swollen and blue. I asked mom what had happened, and she said that she had fallen. I was not notified, and no treatment was given. Mom was moved from a fairly large semiprivate to another semiprivate room. I was told that it was only a temporary move for some remodeling. I found out that wasn't true. She was going to be staying in that room. The room was so small, that there was no room for a chair for visitors to sit. One of the nurses dispensing medications told my mom that she was only there to do her job and get paid. She said that the old people meant absolutely nothing to her. If you love your family member, please think twice before you put them here.

I find the caretakers, staff, nurses, theropists, and administration to be excellent! The staff always has a happy attitude. The facility is satisfactory. It is older, but is very clean. It is obvious to me that the administration works hard to keep the facility neat and tidy. Many of the rooms are only semi-private with 2 & 3 people in a room. That took some "getting used to" for me and my loved one.
According to my loved one, the food is satisfactory; similar to food served at hospitals. Some days are, of course, better than others, but it usually smells very good when I walk through at dinner.
I really appreciate that residents who are healthy are encouraged to move about and sit outside in the yard or play games in the dinning room. Residents are given a great deal of independence and encouraged to be maintain their independence as much as possible. I love that the facility is treated as a home and community! There are varying levels of community since some residents are almost completely independent and others need complete care.
If you've not been in a nursing home, be forewarned: There are some very ill people there. And, these people are not shoved into a corner and hidden. They are included whenever possible in daily activities. I was surprised by some residents' state of health, but grew accoustomed to it. My loved one still struggles with living with severe mentally and/or physically challenged neighbors. Though it's a bit shocking for "the rest of us", I'm glad these residents are given such love and care, and included so often. It's good for the soul--for all of us!

This is one of the worst nursing homes that I know about. Patient identy theft allowed for years. Medication errors that are swept under the rugs and an extreme high amount of patient falls per month. Honestly could not encourage anyone to leave their love one here. My rating is a 1 being the worst.

Excellent facility caring staff who are also very skillful. Special compliments to Occupational and physical therapy and to Kim in admissions. My husband was transferred here after 4 months in another facility. It was like night and day difference in his physical and emotional well being. Other place claimed he could never learn to stand. This place had him standing and taking steps in 3 days. They treated him like a reasonable, rational, likable human being. Physical care and food and cleanliness were excellent also.

horrible experience with my mother that was placed here for rehab. Medicines not taken care of, very argumentative when it came to what she was supposed to be doing even after the hospital advised what she could do, but the breaking straw was when her bed COLLAPSED while she was in it and the nurse had the nerve to say that it was her fault because she was laying on the remote! It didn't just gradually lower as it would when you push a button on a remote - it collapsed! And they left her in the bed that was lying on the floor. The nurse asked why she was crying - was she hurt and when my mom said she thought she was ok - she was told to stop crying then. My father went back to the center at 8:30pm to take her home…no one even tried to stop them or help them!
