Review of Medilodge of Milford

Don't let your loved one stay here unless you or someone else will be with them most of the time. Very short staffed. No doctor on site. My father was recovering from fractured bones, yet being handled roughly by the aides. Not one of them could tell me why my father was there. They were simply going through their checklist of things to do with no regard for my father's well-being or comfort. Aides and nurses are mostly pleasant, but not attentive. One or two should not be working there at all. I asked one aide for an extra pillow, and after a deep sigh, she said she would get it but that if would take a while because they were located on the other side of the building. Never saw her again. If you want fresh water for your loved one, you'll have to ask for it. If you want the bedding changed, you'll have to ask for it. The same goes for most other necessities such as bathroom supplies and tissue. Bathroom was dirty most of the time. If your loved one pushes the button for help, they should be prepared to wait for up to 45 minutes. Empty their trash by pulling the bag out and putting it in the hall between 10 and 10:30 p.m. If you don't, your loved one will be loudly awoken by staff coming into the room some time around 11 p.m. to get it. There is no A/C in the room. Bring a fan because it gets very uncomfortable. Makes me wonder if there's heat in the winter. Keep track of your loved ones' medications. We had to keep asking for pain medication, and other medications would drop off the list for no reason. There's an inadequate amount of tables in the dining room. We often had to wait or eat in my father's room. I'm sure I forgot something, but I hope this was helpful.
