I have had my mother reside here at this facility Country Villa for almost a year now. The place is very nice and has up-beat atmosphere, the staff is very nice, approachable, and knowledgable. I am happy that I made my decision to send mom to country villa, because when I go home for the night after visiting I know she is in good hands and is taken care of.

From the first time I visited this Nursing Home I've got very warm, welcoming feeling. Someone immediately approached me, smiling and offered help. There is no smell as usually, very clean, you can see eployees are buzy working and not standing around. It seemed place was very well managed. After I spoke with representative from the facility I decided this is It and never regraded. Care is very good, anything I needed I always get assistance. Thank you Country Villa

A good friend, 63 years old and a veteran of the US Army, has been a patient at what is now Country Villa for over 13 years. He has a degenerative muscle disease and can only control several fingers on his left hand. Last night at midnight he used those fingers to call me on speed dial as he couldn't dial 911 on his own. He sounded panicked and was having serious trouble breathing. He asked me to call the facility's front desk and tell them to send a nurse to his room. He had turned on his call light at 11:15 PM and was no one had responded for more than 45 minutes. The woman who answered the phone hung up on me. I called back and read her the riot act demanding medical help for my friend. My wife called several minutes later and she was hung up on too. She then called 911 and and when the emergency techs arrived, they took him to the nearest emergency room where he was evaluated and admitted with suspected pneumonia and possibly an intestinal blockage . What makes this worse is a similar incident took place just 3 weeks ago, the first time my friend had to call me for help because no one responded to his crisis. After I filed a complaint with the county ombudsman, the facility director called me to apologize profusely and promise it would never happen again. The promise lasted 20 days. If you love someone… keep them out of this place if you have any other reasonable options. If you don't have options… you cannot trust this place and need to be constantly vigilant. My friend could have died from this incident. I'm now looking into the laws regarding criminal negligence. If you have a reasonable alternative, consider it very carefully. I'm looking to help my friend find a different facility where he will feel safe.

Staff turn over is high, making it impossible to get consistent good care for a resident. Over drugging a serious problem. Theft of residents possessions ongoing. Administration ignores orders by the state to rectify problems. Serious medical issues aggravated by refusal to take emergency measured to move resident to a local emergency room (involving broken bones requiring surgery).

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star but it wouldn't let me post unless I did! Where do I begin, First my daughter that is 23 went into this place out of Marin County Hospital around may or june of 2011 I believe. She was talking, walking and improving but as of 2/1/2012 she can't really speak, doesn't even walk or have the strength to. She had dropped a lot of weight. I live in texas and ever since the doctor in the facility, Dr.Hamblin, wanted around Sept. to just put in a IV drip and give her a month to live I have been working feverishly to get her out of that place. I demanded a stomach feeding tube to be put back in her since when she got there they removed it. I had to press the matter to get him to do this for her. Then the Social Worker there thought it would be better to have a CNA to travel with her to Texas and found one there to do it. Charging me 500 dollars plus airfare. 2 hours before they were to board the plane he had left a message on my phone that he was unable to do it. I called and talked to Kelli the social worker and all I got was excuses that is was illegal and kickbacks and the administration much of scared Michael. Really??? Your idea and yet it's illegal???? Had to get me other daughter to go to Cali and get her. Kelli, the social worker, said she would give her some items for the trip. Didn't happen! Above all this they didn't even send any of her clothing back with her. Had to go and buy her some before the plane landed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this facility to anyone that I cared about! This is my experience. I hope if you choose it works out better for your loved one.

People in this building don't ever do what they say they would do. They are good but making promises but not at keeping them. The buildings stinks of urine smell and I don't ever want to have a loved one admitted to this facility again.

Interned there and it was sad to see how the CNA's treated some of their residents. Not to bad but certainly not the four star nursing home rating they were given.

My mom has been here for a couple of years, and she loves it. The staff are all really kind and professional, the buildings and landscaping beautiful, and the location is surprisingly convenient and quiet. I honestly look forward to going for a visit!
