Kensington Care and Rehab Center Waukesha, Wisconsin 53188

My mother stayed at Kensington Rehab for several weeks after having major surgery. This place is awful. The rooms have cement walls. The facility smells. There are seriously aggressive residents who live here, swearing and verbally fighting with each other. The majority of the residents spend their days in wheelchairs in the hallways. Care is minimal. I don't blame the staff for the shortcomings. Do not let your loved one stay at this facility. It was a huge setback for my mother.

under staffed poor communication between family and staff tried to convey to staff patient was over medicated, talked to several people, (doctors, nurses, etc) and didn't get any response occ. therapist was very unprofessional made remarks to family as a veiled threat whispered to other therapists about patient

patient has improved immensely since he left facility. one morning for 4 hours there was no staff in pod.

would never recommend MANNERCARE, food was gross , I was denied medical help, would not let me see a doctor I was one of the youngest ones there and it was not the cleanest place

I found as someone looking for rehab. or the next home and a nice place for my 87 year old Mom that Abbey and everyone I spoke with on the phone were very helpful and offered several options and info over the phone and less concerned like other facilities just trying to get me to do a finance application before even asking if I would like to take a tour or what our families goal was for our Mom, Abbey also did a great job explaining things to me I'm very unfamiliar with and being very patient with my many questions I had.

Also each time I called I was never sent to a voice mail and was connected with a real live person and that meant allot to me since I had a time crunch to make some very serious decisions.

I feel Mom will be happy at Manorcare in Pewaukee Thank You! JIM J.

My elderly Mom was in this facility for a bit better than a week when she died there. They allowed her pneumonia to go untreated by antibiotics for more than 24 hours after she developed it-nurses were unconcerned, although they had been informed that she was predisposed to pneumonia. During the time she was there she never had water available when I came, she was always complaining of being too cold and I later found out that they got her moving only twice a day during the week and not at all on the weekend.

Per a conversation with her doctor after her death, she was a victim of "an extremely inexperienced nursing staff" who seemed to be all there was on the weekend.

Nursing staff was unwilling to listen to my concerns and got hostile when I asked questions regarding her care-both huge red flags.

If I could rate this place less than 1 star, I would. Avoid this facility like the plague.
