Do NOT put your loved one in West Bay, if at all possible!!!!

Absolutely not enough aides to give timely care of residents. Also a lack of comunication all around. Rooms are crowded for two people who each have wheelchairs. Bathrooms are shared by up to 4 paople. Fresh water is not kept constantly available. Grounds look nice but not attainable by anyone that cannot open and close doors by themselves.

I agree with the review above. We are also experiencing the same situation with our loved one with Alzheimers. They don't keep her bathed and she goes 2 to 3 days in the same clothes. Some of the staff members have an attitude when you inquire about her care. Also, they don't keep a good eye on the patients because they are under staffed. One of the patients has gotten on the elevator and gone to another floor or has fallen a number of times because the staff does not keep a good eye on him. They don't get our loved one up very often which has caused a number of bed sores on her body. Save yourself some grief and look at another facility. West Bay is not up to standard.

Our dad has Alzheimer's. At this facility, he went unbathed and in the same clothes for as many as four days in a row. He had multiple, recurring bedsores that went untreated even after complaints were made to staff. During one visit I witnessed a dementia patient's wheelchair given a hard shove by a staff member and sent backwards halfway down a hall with the patient in it. The staff member was angry because the patient wouldn't stop screaming. I did not see any attempts by them to try and improve our dad's condition or quality of life. He was not being involved in activities. He was instead made to sit in a wheelchair for hours on end. He was made to sleep that way as well, rather than in his bed many nights. And these are the minor complaints I have. If you love your family member please, please continue looking for a facility.
Life Care Center of Westlake Westlake, Ohio 44145
My rating is truly 4 1/2 stars. The people here take good care of my wife and seem to enjoy the work they do. I have never heard them be annoyed or upset with any of the residences. My wife's older sister is also in residence here and they take pains to see that they get to visit with each other on a regular basis.

The stna's & nurses were wonderful. The administration on the other Hand ran short staffed. My family member complained that there were not enough stna's there were also some weekends that there were only 2 nurses in the building. More staff is needed especially at meal times.

Terrible place would not recommend to send your loved one here !They will not take good care of anyone ! They just don't Care. They don't listen or follow instructions you give them ! If your loved one becomes ill they will let them be in pain for days without getting medical attention ! My loved ended up in the ICU for several days with complications ! My loved one will not be coming back to this place ! Horrible Place !

Very pleased with owners, staff, therapists and overall care at this facility. Kind compassionate, caring people work here with the residents. Thrilled with my loved one's care here.

Please read prior to placing your loved one here.
We had a loved one here for Alzheimer's care. He was left dirty, wet, un-bathed and was not treated with the respect (nor were we as family members) that you would expect. He went with an untreated UTI, although we asked that he be tested…His behavior deteriorated from this so badly, this is what led us to having him re hospitalized and placed in another nursing home. The nursing staff, certain people, were rude and disrespectful to us and to him..Please do not put your family through this.
Westlake Village Care Center Westlake, Ohio 44145
I do not recommend. This is a very poorly run care center. They have a high turnover of nurses. Are understaffed which takes away from the care of the residents. Nursing and aid staff never wash their hands between patients. Lack training on patient care. Rooms not cleaned on a routine a routine basis. Aids do not have sufficient training on patient care. Physical therapy department is very poorly run.

The nursing staff, stna's, and rehab dept are
The most wonderful but they need a total overhaul on their management staff. Including the director of nursing and the administrator!!!! They are absolutely clueless as how it is to run a facility!!! Shame on them!!!!!!!!!

i would not recommend anyone to Westlake village skilled nursing. It's always under staffed and there's been several cases of scabies going on which wasn't handled until they were threatened to be reported to state. This place really needs to work on organization and residence, staff safety.
Westlake Rehab and Nursing Center Westlake, Ohio 44145
first off i want to say, the hourly workers and therapy dept. are great, however , do your loved one a favor and stay away from this facility unless its for just rehabbing . i give this facility 2/5 rating because of the rehab dept and hourly workers which are a 5/5, the management is a 0/5
Huntington Woods Care & Rehab Center Westlake, Ohio 44145
Only issue I see is the Lack of evening activities, many residents are left slumpt in their wheel chairs for hours. It is a very sad thing to see.
