My daughter was discharged to Victory from Southwest Medical center with discharge orders to be given antibiotics--ampicillin and gentamycin every four hours, 24 hours a day. She had had meningitis with brain abscesses as part of her condition.

For the first 20 hours she was there she was given NO antibiotics. Her hospital orders--the reason she was sent to this "skilled nursing center" (what an unfunny joke) were completely ignored. At this time, as a result of this lack of care, she could have had a relapse into the virulent phase of the infection. I did not know of this at that time. My wake up call came after she had been at Victory just under three weeks. I walked into her room at 10 AM and discovered she had pulled out her PICC the previous night and had lay in bed for 12 hours without her antibiotics or her intravenous nourishment.

At that time she was readmitted to Southwest Medical with brain swelling along with abscesses. I did not want her sent back to Victory.

I found out about the 20 hours because I filed a complaint with State Health Department, they investigated, and they sent me per my request a copy of their investigation.

If you care about your loved ones, keep them out of this "skilled nursing facility.

My mother was in three other nursing homes before Victory. She was at Victory for over five years. I can say (from 11 years supervising my mother's care in various facilities), If anyone thinks they can put their loved one in ANY nursing home and turn their backs, they are dreadfully wrong. Victory has, for the most part, a very caring staff. There are exceptions (as with anywhere). Some are extraordinary and wonderful and a few horrible. All the homes my mother was in were understaffed and the staff was under paid for the extremely demanding jobs they do. Family absolutely must be on top of everything in every nursing situation. Know your loved one's weight on a weekly basis. Know their vitals - daily. Drop in - at LEAST twice a week, preferably 4-5 times a week. This is anywhere. Keep on top of urine tests for UTIs, know your loved one's normal condition and stay on top of it all…every single day. When doing this, I found Victory's staff willing to work with me to keep my mother as healthy and comfortable as possible. If I didn't keep a watch - in any of the homes where she resided, things didn't always get done. This was true for all of them. Victory, in my opinion, did a very good job when I worked with them for my mother's best interest.

I would not put my animal in this facility. They don't know what they are doing. My daughter was punished for having behaviors related to her disease. She was left in the hallway to eat, and look at everyone else in the dining room because they didn't know how to deal with her so they just gave her so much resperidal that she was druling and did know where she was. She was 39 yrs old at the time and has a horrible disease, she could not help what was happening to her. She got a black eye when her call button was not on her person and she was trying to get it, she leaned to far over to reach it on the night stand, fell into the night stand and got a black eye all because they were not doing their job with putting the call button near her or on her person. The ignored her constantly, would get angry with her again, for something she could not help. The food is horrible, the staff and admin. was horrible, they got angry at me because I was there a lot seeing my daughter and I spoke up a lot when I knew she was not being taken care of. Please find another place for your loved one. They never had any activities either, maybe throwing a ball around. Where my daughter is at now, they treat her with respect, and kindness and she has loving CNA's taking care of her.

My mother had a stroke and was feeding herself and walking with a walker before she came to victory health. She wasn't there even 2 weeks and her condition deteriorated to the point of emergency hospitalization by ambulance. None of the staff helped her to eat she was starving and became delirious from acute renal failure and NEGLECT!! She asked for them to call her son or 911 earlier in the day which they ignored her request. My niece and nephew found her that afternoon unsecured in the wheel chair rocking back and forth ready to fall and hallucinating. My nephew called the ambulance!!!! He saved her life!!!!! Please know there is nothing positive about this place!!! Ialso understand they own several other facilities in the area. They should be closed down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really didn't want to rate the facility they really deserve 0 stars but it wouldn't let me do the review without it.
