This facility was remodeled 5 years ago and with the remodel came a change in the process for food and rehab on the short term rehab floor. In the area, I would say this is THE place to go.

I just spoke to my friend in the Mansfield Unit and she told me she has been waiting for an hour to have someone come in to help clean her up from a bowel movement. Two or three people are aware of her needs and no one has come to her aid. This is ridiculous!

I called to speak to the supervisor and was informed at the main desk that no supervisor is available. The person went home already. This is also hard to believe that no one is in charge of this facility at 8:00 in the evening.

I was put through to the nurses' station in that unit and the phone rang at least 30 times without an answer. I called the main number back and the girl I spoke with was rude and unwilling to answer my concerns. What an awful place!

My mother was recently at Starr Farm in the rehab. chittenden wing. I felt she received very good care. Some days I did have to follow up on issues, but the issues were resolved in a timely matter and with a smile. i would reccommend Starr Farm Facility to those who need to recover.. Also, the food was wonderful. My mother is now at Pillsbury Manor recovered . She actually did not want to leave Starr Farm, but fortunately thanks to the care she received she is fully recovered. My grandmother received great care and wonderful rehab. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend family/friends to go there for rehab.

THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE!!!! This nursing facility should be shut down for many reasons. There is no infection control within this place. The care is not what people deserve . HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE.

I spent 8 months at Starr Farm in Rehab in 2012. It was an unexpected journey, and not a welcomed one. However, the staff at Starr Farm did everything in their power to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The facility is kept clean and generally odor free. The therapy staff is outstanding and worked with me daily to strengthen me. The nursing staff, including the LNA's were pleasant and helpful. It's not a hospital, so it may take a few minutes to get a call light answered, but they were always smiling and friendly. The few problems I did have were resolved quickly and to my satisfaction by the administrative staff. The food is pretty good for what you might expect. They treat guests and company very well. Personally, I hope no one has to spend 8 months in rehab, but I would certainly recommend Starr Farm as an outstanding facility. PS I am an RN and former Paramedic, so I do have experience in this area. Thank you.

They cared for my mother very well, but there seemed to be some cut backs in staffing and services that were of concern. Yes, the nurses and activities staff were excellent, going out of their way, doing nice things for the residents. Very connected and involved with the people whose quality of life was in their hands.

None of my family with medical backgrounds were impressed with some of the doctors. Maybe they were overwhelmed and spread too thin, but getting answers to questions was, at times, like the proverbial putting teeth.

The staff, care and services at Vernon are exceptional. The goverment rating system and inspects process for this facility missed the mark. I would recommend Vernon Green above any of the other facilities in the area.

If I could click the last star I would I would remove that one also. I have been trying to get to talk to someone the phone rang for 4 minutes and i am now on hold to be connected. My spouse was admitted for rehab two weeks ago and since then he has not eaten much and had a temp and was not feeling well. They did nothing. Now his clothes have been missing for two weeks. Notw I just got disconnected. I am not happy at all.

While I do agree that you have some wonderful staff there, for the most part this nursing home is completely understaffed. And many of the staff are very green and not equiped to handle the situations and stress they encounter. This facility has received NUMEROUS serious violations from the state - it is any wonder how it has not yet been shut down for negligence.

I called to find information on the nursing home, and the man on the phone was rude and spiteful. I did not enjoy his attitude and I hope everyone in this nursing home doesn't have the same negitive attitude.

The best thing about Pine heights is the nursing staff. Becky, Linda, Shandell are amazing. They have the knowledge of ICU nurses and are so kind and compassionate.

Everyone was so kind and caring while my mother was in rehab from her vascular surgery. It was a long road for her being nearly 90 and having other pre-existing health issues. But now she's home and looking forward to summer thanks to all the nursing staff, LNAs PT & OT.

Additional registered nurse coverage is needed on the rehab floor. It is hard to get any help from a nurse because they are out straight all the time.

They were very rude to family members and informed family members that if the patient wasnt getting the medication that they required that it was up to the family to contact the doctor….that the nurses did what they could. When questioned about the treatment and lack of basic dignity, family was told that the door swung both ways. Family had an issue with potential exploitation by another individual and asked nurses for assistance with telephone numbers and were accosted by a team of nurses and administrator telling them that this was no place to conduct a family fight!! The very next morning, the administrator saw family in the public coffee room and questioned the topics for the days meeting (he was reminded of his previous rant) The family members were led to a room with the patient in the back, the scent of urine was prominent, and although the patient was present for the family's conversation with the social worker, administrator and nurse, they suggested that these conversations were upsetting to the patient, although they were certainly participating,seeming that only what ever the family brought up was upsetting and not their condescending responses. (no mental health evaluation had been done and to date, still hasnt happened) After 9 days of sitting in the room, no one had questioned what the patient liked to do for activities. No care plan established. The administrator promised a television to allow some mental stimulation for the patient and failed to produce that too. If a rating lower than one were available, it would have been chosen. Visitors listened to the bowel problems of the lady in the next bed and how her rectum was 'opened up like a garage door', repulsing the visitors and failing the room mate as well…disgusting!

needs new management, saw horrible miss treatment of employee's by management, DNS specificaly. i over heard alot and was not impressed while i was there for rehab. witnessed the DNS yelling at people an swearing loudly out in public view. luckily for me the nurses and lna's them selfs were very nice,

SAw the other reviews and don't get 'em. The numbers on the CMS web site show this facility has the highest staffing numbers in the area. Great Rehab- i was there and thought the staff was nice and helpful.!!!

The food was ok- not a 5 star French Restaurant. Buildong was clean and seems to have been renovated recently.

I would go back IF I had to go somewhere for therapy.

This is an awful place for those in the end of their life. It's just incredibly sad. The company that runs it should be ashamed of themselves. They understaff their nurses worse than any place I have ever seen. I would not want anyone I loved to be subjected to such a place.
