Review of Provo Rehabilitation and Nursing

5 Star User Review

I wanted to share my story about my time at Provo Rehab. I was diagnosed with a large brain tumor which extended down and into my brain stem. October 2012 I had surgery to remove the tumor. The operation left me unable to stand, walk, talk, swallow, or even breathe. I spent about a month in the hospital rehab then came to Provo Rehab in November, 2012. At that point, it was unclear weather I would ever get off a ventilator much less walk or have my breathing treach removed. I was totally dependent on the Provo staff and could do nothing by my self. I started working with physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy every day. Additionally, the nursing and aid staff took wonderful care of me while I was rehabbing.

It is now October, 2013 and it has been a very very hard year. However, I AM HOME!! The great team at Provo Rehab never gave up on me! I am now off the ventilator; I had my trach remover on September 26, 2013; I can walk, talk and do almost any thing by my self (even jumping jacks). I am continuing my therapy from home and plan to start college next semester. I want to be a social worker so I can work with others in the rehab world and share my story.

Thank you so much Provo Rehab!! I would have never made it with out all your help and dedication.
