I never thought much about my parents getting old until my father suffered a stroke. Within 24 hours, the man who was my rock was now a speechless shell of a person. We spent a week in the hospital and although they tried, it was more of a frustrating experience. When it was time for discharge, I was given seven options for nursing homes because I could not take dad home. I was so confused but then a friendly face walked into my dad's room and told me about East Neck. I took a chance and I am so glad that I did. East Neck is a wonderful facility with caring staff who took the time to help my Dad heal. From the Nurses on remsen unit to the rehab department, I can not thank them enough. Dad made a full recovery and is walking and talking. Thank you so much East Neck for giving me Dad back. I will forever be grateful.
