Review of East Neck Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

1 Star User Review

I have met at least 3 of the guests grandchildren and all 3 of them said, their filling out applications to become volunteers here so they can keep an eye on the grandparents. The guests bedsheets are never changed, there are always bugs in the rooms, the radiators leak all over the floor, causing the floor to be incredibly slippery. House keeping and the maintance man always come after 11 attempting to force the guests out of their rooms because their late at doing their jobs. This place is supposed to be their home. Their supposed to feel safe. The fact that their neglected and fed disgusting food and only bathed twice a week is an absolute disgrace. My grandfathers television is not working properly so my grandmother calls maintance every single day, with me talking to the nurses at the nursing station daily. Do you think they do anything? No. So she told Miss. Princess Sara Rogan and she says "you can go home and watch your own." My grandmother is also disabled, confined to a wheelchair when she's out. With that said, its very difficult for her to get around. When she has to go to the bathroom, she is forced to wheel herself out to the bathroom (on the opposite side of the building by the elevator-where sometimes they were out of order). So she uses my grandfather's bathroom in his room only for the Princess to come and yell at her. The public bathrooms are just as contagious as the guests room bathrooms. Everyone uses them: the guests, the guests family members, the nurses, doctors, aides, etc. There never cleaned. Theres no need to treat a guest of a guests family member(s) like that, disabled or not. I can not express the thanks and gratitude I have for Joe, Lisa, Nick, and Jessica. Joe and Lisa help my grandfather with everything. Shaving, bringing him to his room, getting him dressed, making sure he's 100% comfortable, etc. When my grandfather was moved back to the second floor, even though he wasn't her guest anymore, Lisa, visits with him and makes him comfortable as can be. Nick is warm, generous, and everytime I pass him in the halls he always smiles and says "hello". Just that it manages to make me think that there are good people who care and do their job and help other people. And Jessica is a true sweetheart. Always laughing and smiling, making conversations with everyone, making people laugh. They go above and beyond their job. I wish the paid staff was like this. Caring and loving. Thank you Joe, Nick, Lisa, and Jessica for everything you do, have done, amd continue to do. If you want to visit with him (which he would love) his new room number is 202 window. Thank you again for all you do. Xoxo

My grandfather didn't have the insurance to be moved to someplace else. Thanks for your input but really, do you have a loved one there? Go there and find out.

Myself and a few other families are writing and calling the Department of Health and this place WILL BE SHUT DOWN PERMANENTLY! I blame myself every single day for not realizing that something was terribly wrong here. Ok, its not just me. Go ask the families of these poor souls if they like the treatment that their loved one is receiving. I bet you there won't be one that agrees with you.

Thankfully my Grandfather is home and doing a hell of a lot better, more so than he was when he was in this Mental Institution. Thanks for asking.

It is unfortunate that people have nothing positive to say. I only ask one question, where is your loved one now? Obviously if this home was so poor at taking care of your loved one then why would you leave them there? Sometimes people blame everyone else for their own guilt. Lets face it if you could do it better at home then you would……..

And seeing that your the so called Administrator of this hell hole or should I say "facility" why would you say something horrible, or in this case true. You'll just lie to other people like you did my family and myself. I'm not the only one and my family is not the first to have problems with this mental institution type place. My family, as well as, many others are going straight to the Department of Health and Nursing Home Care. Now tell me why I would do that? Tell me why I have pictures of this crap of a facility consisting of BUGS, HORRIBLE RATIONED FOOD, HORRIBLE "CLEANING" JOBS, HORRIBLE BATHROOMS, ETC! Pictures don't lie. And if this website allowed them they would be all over it!

As for Ms Rogan, she needs to grow the hell up and quick! She is number one on this list, of multiple names, that is also going to the State! Along with your so called head nurse, Nichole, located on the second floor of LaGrange.

So if you actually meet with all these people, will you tell them all that?? Or how about the fact that you do bill as a Nursing Home, which many people do not have coverage for, so they have to be SOL with the billing??

Anyone is welcome to go to Change.org and look up: Great East Neck Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center: Stop the Abuse, Neglect, and Hostility Towards Elderly Patients. (Oh yes, and this too will be going straight to the State.)

Tell Ms. Rogan thank you for the ANXIETY ATTACK that she gave me, and thank you for putting my Grandmother in the Hospital for Heart problems. Your a real gem!

As the Administrator of East Neck Nursing & Rehabilitation Center I hope that anyone who reads this posting will take into consideration that the author of this review is obviously feeling a great deal of anger and guilt. The issues in this review have been addressed with the family but to no avail, with total disregard for other residents rights. I would invite anyone who wishes to, to make an appointment and visit the facility to get a first hand look at what is done for the residents. As for Miss Rogan, she is a very caring, compassionate social worker who has been dealing with the issues of this family and because they are non compliant they feel it necessary to degrade Miss Rogan. This is totally inappropriate and uncalled for.
