Review of Southpointe Healthcare Center

5 Star User Review

I have visited a wide variety of nursing care facilities throughout Milwaukee County as part of an senior outreach program. Recently my wife spent four weeks in its TransiCare Rehab Facility [residents are short-term requiring physical rehabilitation]. S.Pointe is clean. The menu allows for personal preferences and is varied. Staff were pleasant if not down-right cheerful.

From my observations/reports fr my wife staff followed proper procedures when moving people around. If more than one staffer was required for a particular task no one tried to do it alone or without proper equipment. No Short-Cuts.

Environment Enrichment? Well, they even arranged for visits by a dog specifically trained for nursing home visits.

Each bed has a small tv on a gimballed arm that allows the viewer to physically adjust it positioning. Warner Cable channels are available. The Common Room includes a computer and piano [organ-?].

Let me put it this way: every night, when I left my wife's bedside for home, I felt relieved by her improvements and fr what I had observed and overheard.

What would I like to see? More staff. I had the impression that working there was like Spinning Plates. And at the end of the shift, the staff kept their plates spinning until the next crew could take-over for them.
