I can't even give this Hell Hole 1 star. So many disgusting things about this place and the employees. They don't give a rats ass about the patients, especially the nurses and their aids. My uncle is 85 yrs old, was put their for physical therapy for this leg. He is of complete mind, which makes it so much worse. These nurses are lazy and don't want to answer any questions we have. He is left to stay in a wheelchair all day long. On morning at 2am, he called nurse to ask for help to the restroom, they told him "you have a diaper on" we don't have time to take you. WTF??? I'm just waiting until he can get out of this place before I let every one of them know what I think. I'm afraid they will hurt him if I cause problems while he is still there. YES, i would have already taken him out if they didn't tell me that the insurance will not pay for this stay if we took him out. They draw blood in the middle of the night and noone can tell us why??? The food looks like something found in a dumpster. Many, many other things I can say about what goes on in this place……

The staff there is very caring. Yes they do work short staffed at times but so does other places like that. Most family members get dumped there by lazy family members that don't want any part of hands on care with their family. It takes special people to do that kind of work, and there are lots of caring staff there.

First of all be thankful that they make nursing homes for lazy people who cast their family members to the side. I am a CNA at a nursing home and I feel awful for those patients. they have taken care of their families and then as soon as they got sick…the same family members put them in a facility and spend their money on themselves. then the family members have the nerve to complain about staff umm keep your mom and dad at home. you send them there with all of their medications not to mention the mental/psycho. problems and want the doctors, cna, and nurses to make them perfect…. get over it. some people should be ashamed of themselves 5 or 6 kids and maybe 10 or more adult grandkids and no 1 can take care of grandma…yet you guys claim to care…like I said get over it. and the majority don't even come to visit holidays go by no visits but yet you drop by once in a while to complain

My husband was at this place on three different occasions. The clinical service is terrible . I never talked to the doctor except on my home phone after my husband was back at the hospital. the NP was rude and unprofessional. The third time we were there she didn't bother to see my husband while I was there and that was every day until 6 or 7pm everyday,. I can say the rehab was excellent. Not a good place, My family and I have had a bad experience with the nurses not coming in and checking on my Dad. When you ring the call bell they do not come in to see what you need, you have to go and find someone. The center is really understaffed and that makes it hard on everyone.

The care that my grandfather got while at Hanover Rehab was absolutely horrible! He was a victim of complete neglect. There were many times that he requested assistance, only to be ignored for a long time until finally someone showed up (and had the attitude that my grandfather was bothering them). My grandfather fell waiting for help one day. The patients who go there are there because they need lots of care! I am wondering how many accidents happen while waiting for assistance. The food is inadequate, very small portions and if the patient doesn't eat a certain food, they go hungry! These poor patients need proper nutrition to help them get well. NEVER send a family member here!

My mother lost 15 pounds in 5 weeks they give portions that a small child would eat for meals. Hanover Health and rehab is also not concerned about the comfort or health of their patients, they are slow to respond when called for help patients need to call an average of 4 to 5 times before anyone comes. Depending on who the individual is, they are rough when helping old sick people getting dressed etc.. It is a real shame.

6/21/12 My mother is a patient here. 2 nights ago she did not get dinner as they "ran out of food". My brother lives closeby. My mother called him and he went to Wendys to pick up a quick dinner for her. This is unbelievable! To make matters worse, she was sitting in the dining room waiting to be served and no one said a word to her about the situation until she sat for a long time and asked about her dinner. Also, some of the employees commented to my mother, "this had happened a couple of times recently". As to the truth of this, I don't know, but it's an unacceptable situation. The kitchen supervisor apologized to Mother yesterday, and said it will "never happen again". We'll see if that is true. I am complaining to the facility and the corporation re: the incident.

STOP!!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES (OR YOUR WORST ENEMY) HERE. THE STAFF AT THIS "REHAB" CENTER IS UNPROFESSONAL, UNEDUCATED, UNCARING, UNSIMPATHETIC AND BASICALY UNCIVALIZED IN THERE CARE AND TREATMENT OF PEOPLE. IM SURE THIER ARE EMPLOYEES AT THIS CENTER WHO ARE THERE FOR THE RIGHT REASONS, TO HELP AND CARE FOR PEOPLE. BUT UNFORTUNATLY I NEVER HEARD ABOUT OR SAW THEM. WHAT YOU DID SEE AND HEAR WERE PATIENTS LEFT IN SOILED CLOTHING AND BEDS, GIVEN THE WRONG MEDICATION, IGNORED WHEN IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE PHONE AVAILABILITY SO THEY CAN CALL FAMILY WHEN IN NEED. FOR EXAMPLE, MY MOTHER IN LAW WAS ENCURAGED TO GO HERE AFTER A KNEE OPERATION BECAUSE OF SOME COMPLICATIONS, WE GAVE HER A CELL PHONE SO SHE COULD CONTACT FAMILY IF SHE NEED OR WANTED TO. BUT WHEN SHE ACCIDENTALY DROPPED IT ON THE FLOOR SHE COULDN'T REACH IT AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO STAND WITHOUT ASSISTANCE BECAUSE OF THE COMPLICATION WITH HER KNEE AND THE NURSE INFORMED HER IT WASN'T HER PROBLEM OR HER JOB TO GET HER PHONE FOR HER. BECAUSE OF THAT MY MOTHER IN LAW HAD TO SIT IN HER WET CLOTHES UNTIL HER HUSBAND GOT THERE THAT MORNING. APPARENTLY THE NURSE FELT IT WASN'T HER JOB TO HELP HER TO THE RESTROOM OR HELP HER CLEAN UP AFTER NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. AFTER THAT WE WERE DETERMINED MY MOTHER IN LAW WOULD NOT BE STAYING THE TWO WEEKS THE DR THOUGHT WAS NEEDED. THINK HER WHOLE STAY WAS LESS THAN 4 WHOLE DAYS.

The rehab people are great, caring and full of praise.

The nurses and CNA's on the other hand are not so great!

I would not send my loved one here. I had my step-father moved as quickly as possible.

He was on a soft food only diet, with drinks thickend due to a stroke and not swallowing properly. They constantly gave him reguar foods and drinks. He could have choked!!!

He would sit in his own feces for up to a good hour at a time when we were not there to help him.

They constantly rolled their eyes when asked for help and were never around when they were needed! He would hit the nurses button only to wait over 30 minutes just to get someone in there.

Night times were the worst!!!

This place is not recommended!!!

This facility is a mixed bag. The rehabilitation folks are great and very attentive to the patients. On the other hand I have real concern regarding the care that is given to patients. Patients who have a strong presence of family and friends seem to get much better care and attention than those who don't. I visited a dear friend daily about a year ago and every time I went by the nurses station -- no matter what time of day or evening -- there was one woman tied to a wheelchair who was sitting in her soiled pants and no one attended to her. The smell was obvious but the woman wasn't able or had given up asking for assistance. I was there just yesterday and another woman was sitting by the nurses station crying out for help. When I told an aid that she required assistance the aid replied "She's fine and doesn't need anything". Whether she did or not there was no compassion shown and it broke my heart. Even for those fortunate enough to get good care the food is atrocious. I've had 5 of my seniors in Hanover Rehab over the past couple of years without exception they all needed food brought from the outside because they food provided is so poor. These are all things that can be remedied so my question is why aren't they?

This facility has the worst care for people and they do not treat them with dignity or respect. Some of the nurses are so rude and rush patients to dress which need assistance to put clothes on. On several occasions they are smoking outside and when patients ring the bell for assistance they can't hear it because they are outside. Also, they do not check patients out to see if other medical conditions are needed. I would never recommend this facility to any of my family or friends because they do not give you the care that you need. Also, some CNA's do not do their jobs with assisting the patients.
