The turnover here is ridiculous. My Dad lived here for 6 several months after a stroke. I chose this facility because of medicare.gov reviews. I was FOOLED! The reason for their high reviews is because they only accept low-level care patients… recovering from a knee injury, etc.
My Dad has paralysis on half his side… this place was supposed to move him to his side every few hours… never happened. He developed LARGE bed sores… he never got oral care, making my dad's comfort level atrocious. The RNs only do paperwork. They rarely do anything with patients. One time my Dad's mouth was so disgusting, I went to the RN (NOT a CNA/LVN) and she said she'd have someone come clean his mouth. An hour later, nothing was done. Furious, I went to the nurses station and demanded the Director of nursing come IMMEDIATELY. At 11pm, he had nothing to say… no reasoning….
They never had family meetings to discuss treatment… speaking with their DR was ridiculous. She never responded and the RNs, always said she was not available… and she never returned calls. I called the director and demanded a meeting--- it took 2 weeks before I got a meeting.
When I had enough, and had my Dad discharged… NOBODY was there to discharge him. The nurse couldn't let him go…. they hadn't signed the proper paperwork… The admin in the front was in charge of admissions and discharges…. an ADMIN!!!!! I told both of the admissions about my experience… they both went to a different facility.
Finally, when the paperwork was signed… they tried to slip in some paperwork that made ME financially responsible for his care there… AND a release of liability! WOW!!!!!!!!
