Review of Wilmington Nursing & Rehab

1 Star User Review

LOTS OF STAFFING ISSUES AND MANAGEMENT ISSUES. QUALITY OF CARE IS NOT GREAT DUE TO THIS BUT A FEW THAT WORK THERE REALLY DO CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS BUT THEY SUFFER FROM BURN OUT AND IT SNOWBALLS DOWN TO THE RESIDENTS. THE ROOMS ARE SMALL AND SOME ROOMS ARE SET UP FOR THREE BEDS AND THERE REALLY ISNT ENUFF ROOM FOR THREE IN THEM ANYWAYS. RESIDENTS COMPLAIN OF WAITING A LONG TIME FOR CALL LIGHTS TO B ANSWERED AND THIS IS DUE TO SHORT STAFFING AND THEY CLAIM THEY ARE OVER STAFFED ACCORDING TO STATE REGULATIONS BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT WITH MOST RESIDENTS NEEDING 2 PERSON ASSISTANCE OR NEEDING A LOT OF ATTENTION THEY NEED MORE PEPOLE ON STAFF TO ACCOMIDATE THE NEEDS BUT THEIR CONCERN IS ON SAVING MONEY WHERE EVER THEY CAN. CMH HOSPITAL HAS NAMED THEM THE LAST PLACE THEY WILL SEND THEIR PATIENTS AND THAT IS TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE IN MY OPPINION. THEY ARE NOT GIVEN PROPER MEALS FOR THE DIABETICS. THEY ARE SERVED POTATOES AND CONCENTRATED SWEETS ON A REGULAR BASIS AND THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD SERVED IS JUST OK. THIS FACILITY IS IN NEED OF BETTER MANAGEMENT AND POLICES THAT ARE CARRIED OUT. THEY ARE TRYIN TO MAKE THIS A BETTER FACILITY BUT I DONT SEE I GETTING MUCH BETTER. FAMILY AND RESIDENTS HAVE VALID CONCERNS AS WELL AS THE STAFF AND THEY AWAIT SEEING THE CHANGES. THIS FACILITY NEEDS A REMODEL AND NEEDS TO BE CLEANED MORE EFFICIENTLY AND NEEDS HOUSEKEEPING ON ALL SHIFTS TO ENSURE TE FACILTY LOOKS NICE AT ALL TIMES. I COULD GO ON AND ON. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO BRING YOUR FAMILY!

I have visited this facility and couldn't believe my eyes on how dirty it was ceiling fans had a inch of Dust the smell wad just umbarrable!! I would never bring a family member there.

I agree 100% with the above review. They do not have enough staff. They work short more then not. Call lights Stay on for way longer than they should but only because there aides are trying to help other residents. With NO help from anyone. If you sit in there dinning area and watch you see aides busting there buts to give care to their residents and the "big wigs" walk right past call lights. They never have supplies that you need such as breifs, soap..ect. The building needs an major update. They have had many sitings of bed bugs. They do not have enough house keeping staff to keep the building clean the nurse aides do what they can to keep it clean as do the housekeepers but they can only do so much. They mandate there staff to stay over they get wore out and tired and unable to physically give the residents the care they need. I will add they have a new director of nursing who is really working on getting more staff in the building but she can only do what they will allow her todo. For now I would most certainly not recommend this building to anyone. If you are thinking about bringing a friend or family Member to this facility take a tour and take time to stop and ask a family member how they feel about the facility. Hope this helped.
