Review of Villa Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Continuing Education

If there were zero stars, that would be appropriate. Villa Rd Nursing Home is a filthy place. We thought it would be a nice place for my grandmother to get on her feet while my mother recovered from a total knee replacement and could not care for her. Grandma was transferred there because of severe pain in her back from arthritis. She was supposed to have physical therapy to help her. The first night there grandma was slung into a filthy looking bed upon being transferred from a hospital. If I had not asked, she would have not been given water to drink as the barest essentials. She was there all night without any medicene prescribed from the hospital because the nurse was too busy to get it faxed. It was not until 10 am the next day they decided to give it to her. I doubt she would have gotten it that soon had I not been there to see to it. The floors are so filthy my shoes were sticking to the floor in her room. There were blood drippings down the hall. She had no phone, no tv remote, no water, and was left lying helplessly in a wet urine soaked depends undergarment. Worst of all she was in severe pain, and the nurse on duty laughed at me when I asked if my grandma could get some Tylenol or something for her pain. There was screaming in the hallways from other patients, and the nurse laughed and told my grandma (who asked if it was a cat in her confusion), no its JUST someone who is crying for their pain medicene. I find this place is understaffed to care for as many patients they have. They are not professional. The nurses reeked of smoke. They are in it for the money. If your loved one has insurance such as Medicare, they will do anything to get them. DO NOT trust this place. Your loved one is NOT being looked after. THEY (VILLA RD) do not nave your loved one's best interest. PLEASE>>>PLEASE go elsewhere. There are some good places in Springfield, but NOT Villa Road Nursing home. Thank You.
