Review of Peak Resources - Charlotte

4 Star User Review

My wife and I were referred to Peaks from a list of 7 other rehab centers by Matthews Presbyterian Hospital. We only had 48 hrs to select one for our 96 year old mother who needed rehab for broken right hip. Hands down this is best of the lot as it is new, including most of the staff. The food service and menu is very good considering all the meals that are prepared for so many varied tastes. The admitting process was smooth easy and transparent and worked with the insurance companies on our behalf. The weakness of the facility is being short staffed on the weekends, longer waits for assistance compared to the hospital but each staff member projected a sincere caring desire to help. We were allowed to bring my mother's Chihuahua to visit her which made a big difference to her morale. The staff should improve with focused OJT and performance reviews promoting team work. They have a good core team to start just need more training. The planned list of social activities was also a sales factor for us as our mother loves games and meeting people. We have no problem recommending this facility as long as it is understood they are improving their weak areas over time.

I wish I felt the same about Peaks. My Father was admitted for rehab and after two weeks we decided he would need to stay longer. After moving from Rehab the quality of care was so different from the rehab side .The staff was very unproffessional and uncaring. When asked question know one had the answers. My father died after being there for a month he complained constanly about the staff not being nice.
