My mother was recently discharged after a stay of about three weeks. This place is a disorganized mess with inefficient communication in all departments. There is a culture of dysfunction that I would guess comes from poor leadership, too bad because there ARE some excellent individuals who are trying to do their job but are hampered by the rest.
Employees should NOT be whispering and gossiping in sight of patients.
My mother was discharged with a bag of pills (some incorrect doses), a handful of prescriptions, and no counseling whatsoever as far as follow up.
We were late for a doctor's appt. in Elmira because their was no communication that our van driver was waiting for us in the lobby.
More than a week went by without a shampoo or clean fingernails.
I guess this is what happens when a For Profit group takes over. Shame on the county for giving up this beautifully designed facility.
