  • Wingate of Ulster Highland, New York 12528

My father suffered neglect and abuse while at Wingate Ulster. He had severe diarrhea from C diff. I asked the night nurse to ensure he did not get dehydrated. By morning my father was severely dehydrated and had very low blood pressure. He was sent to the ER that morning. His next visit the last day my father was at Wingate in Ulster he was very ill… suffering from C diff and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci . He did not have solid food for several days. The night before I asked the physical therapist to give him bedside therapy because he was too weak. The therapist came down to get my father that morning. Even though my father begged to be left in bed and begged to be put into a hospital, the PT ignored his wishes and forced him to sit upstairs while everyone else did PT. My father was extremely weak by the time they brought him back to his bed at noon. That night I visited him Ibroke down crying when I saw how sick he was. The nursing home send him to the ER. He passed away the next day. His last words to me the next day at the hospital were "they better not bother me today". I told him he was in the hospital not the nursing home and that no one would bother him. Wingate also did not follow proper hygiene to ensure his contagious infections did not spread to other patients. When I complained they all lied. Please DO NOT send your loved ones to this nursing home. They need to be shut downQ
