To whom it may concern:
Writing with impetus from the Buffalo News watchdog series on WNY nursing homes, I experienced first hand numerous deviations from both medical and administrative norms with the staff of The Buffalo Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing
Last year, my mother, when having entered the facility, I was able to maintain due diligence to the care she was receiving. And what I experienced was disheartening.
There were times when my mother never received any meals. On one occasion my mother, having soiled herself, requested assistance, but in her own words stated that the aide responsible for her care that night ignored her calls for help. Initially I found this statement incredulous, but when I went to the individual in question, my mother's assertions proved correct. I’m amazed I’m not serving time after the aide told me he wasn’t going to respond to my mother’s call(s).
