wow…i dont know who gave 5 stars…must of been done by the facility administrator…..
as a nurse im familiar with proper care of patients. when my mom was sent to kindred i was expected good care…what i found were alot of nurses who spoke very little english and who didnt seem to care. my mom was put on a trach and was sent to kindred to be weaned off the trach…she was unable to talk…a month after being at kindred she was weined off the trach but was given a life threatening illness in her picc line…..she almost passed away right before my eyes. i had to beg the charge nurse to send her to the er. i finally threatened to call the cops… the er said if were would not of sent her as soon as we did, she would of died.
but that is not where the story ends. my mom told me that when she wasnt able to speak, the nurses would laugh and comment on her weight…they would call her a "big baby" when she cried and tried to tell them she was in pain…..i was mortified and angry when i found this out and am presently seeking legal councel.
the speech therapist was suppose to come six times a week and showed up only a few times ever. physical therapy would leave her in a chair for hours and take off not leaving her with the call bell so she could call when she was in pain.
it was a horror having my mom their. STAFF DID NOT CARE AND ADMINISTRATION DID NOT CARE

please do research before sending your loved one to any facility
