After my partner left the hospital, he was sent to Countryside Rehab and Nursing Center in Palm Harbor, Florida. I never had the experience of having anyone stay at a Nursing Home, but after my partners stay I will research any other Nursing facility he stays in. Countryside was HORRIBLE!!! Before I finally removed him from the facility I had several arguments with the Director and staff members because: I walked into my partners room and he was covered in his own feeces. He was screaming and asking to be changed and cleaned. The staff ignored him, but when they saw me walk into the room, everyone came in to attend to him and change him. I was furious. Another inccident was when he was sitting in his wheel chair by the Nurses station and they did not strap him, He fell on his chest breaking his fingers.
I am writing down some of the incidents that happen to him and I am being nice in explaining how things happen. This place is horrible. They give there patients bed baths and they do not wait until the bed gets dry and they put the patients back on the bed while it is still wet, causing the patients to get bed sores. The nurses do not change there gloves and use the same gloves while taking care of the patients therefore causing many patients to get infected with what other patients have. The cleaning staff only where gloves to clean the facility when they are being inspected. And make sure that if you have a loved one in Countryside, that they are being given there medication especially there pain medication because I saw a nurse falling over her medicine cart, asleep, which made me think that she was on heavy medication or maybe taking the patients medication herself. What I am writing is just some of many, many things that happen to him before I took him out of that horrible place. And also before you let your loved one stay in Countryside, do your research and find out how many patients died because of there carelessness. I know people die but find out how many patients die due to there neglect. Also find out how many times they have been sued due to there neglect.This place is Horrible and I would not even recommend it to anyone.
