My Mother has been a resident at Goldstar in Santa Monica for several years. When I visited I thought it could be a bit cleaner and in better condition on the patient floor, but my Mother is happy and wants to remain there. I wanted to bring her to New York where I live, but she knows the staff and feels safe and comfortable in Santa Monica.
I have some concerns about medication she is being given because she sounds less lucid than she did a year ago. When I brought this up with the staff they said they would address the matter. I spoke with Mother today and she still sounds slurry and drugged. Some of this may be a result of dementia, but it does continue to worry me.
