Camarillo Healthcare Center Camarillo, California 93010
My wife and I visited Carmarillo Healthcare Center yesterday, April 23, 2011. We were admitting my 89 year old mother after a bowel surgery wednesday. The place seemed open, airy, warm, well lit, lots of windows, and it did not have any disturbing odor. They had a dining room, a physical therapy room, and long hallways (my mom likes to get up and walk around). All the staff who admitted my mother were very pleasant and friendly. The room she is in has three beds, three closets, and a toilet room. It felt kind of small - especially if they put a their person in there (one other was already there). Her first dinner, which we watched them bring her and watched her eat looked good and she said it tasted good. She is on a somewhat restricted diet due to her recent surgery. She is due to stay there for just one week as she recovers but must have constant nursing care due to her age and infirmities. She has been in skilled nursing facilities before and I am giving Camarillo Healthcare Center 3 gold stars because it was the first day of her admission and we only stayed for two hours. I will revisit this based on the reports I get from her in following days.
