The administrator is uncaring and puts on a front for new residents and rehab patients. The families dont know how she is until its too late.

River Valley has a family feel about it. The staff are caring and always willing to help. They really care about their residents. It may not be the newest or prettiest building but care is much more important to us than how new the building is.

In the morning the CNA's are instructed not to answer call lights while getting residents up for the day. I personally feel that this is wrong, and a resident had to set with her call light on for 60 minutes on Thursday morning because the CNA's would not let another CNA answer the light. The resident was unable to get to the restroom by herself. I feel bad for the resident.

I PLACED MY MOM THERE ON MONDAY SHE WAS DEAD FRIDAY.POOR SUPERVISION, BAD FOOD, DON'T CHANGE PATIENTS,DON'T FLUSH TUBES, STAFF HIDE RECORDS, AND LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING AND DON'T TURN IN REPORTS.

Very clean, very efficient, caring staff. We visited many LTC facilities in the area and, while none were unacceptable, Ashton Place was exactly what we needed for my mother. Food is good (I have had some of it myself) building is in excellent condition. Patients seem to be well cared for (I have spent a good deal of time visiting). And it has a homey feel, as opposed to hospital. Medication is well tracked, and billing has been accurate and helpful.

This is a clean Nursing Home with great aids to care for the patients. The only thing I find not good is the meat on the lunch and dinner meals. It seems to be can meat of some kind sometimes with gravy.
Fridays are desinated to fish day and the alternate meal is soup and sandwich. I find this not sufficient.

The therapy staff is excellent. The nursing is just ok. The Doctor is horrible.
