I really like the staff here. I think they go out of their way to help you. It is awful to be away from home and go through a health issue. What you need are good people around you that care and want you to get well. I appreciate them every day!

Terrible facility - especially after the recent ownership change - I've been visiting there for 4 years - definitely a downward trend. Patients suffer under pain, slow response if any when they ask for help, no access to administration for assistance as before. Rose garden, flowers, trees and interesting photos of residents on the walls have been removed recently. There is more office space with the loss of the movie/reading room but for all the staff people at desks, the patients are certainly not receiving the care they deserve.
This is certainly a poor facility run for profit alone as part of a corporation that runs other facilities. I would hope compassion for those who must live here will be considered in the future. Look carefully before you leave anyone you love here.
Golden Empire Nursing & Rehab Center Grass Valley, California 95945
I've been to two convalescent hospitals last year one in Grass Valley, California and the other in Ashland, Oregon and have found the Golden Empire to be many times superior to the other. The Golden Empire is painted in a positive and uplifting manner which is half the battle. The staff knows the clients names through out the facility and have a special patience needed in this sort of business. The food wasn't to my liking but the clients were complementary of both the flavor and portions.
