This is a beautiful rehab place but beware. My mom's diamond wedding ring went missing off her hand one day. Only reaction was "we'll check with the staff". I would rate the therapy very good. The rehab did their job of getting my mom recovered from her surgery and improved her physical strength. If your loved one has dementia they will spend a lot of time in the hallway. I would have taken my mom's ring but since she never took it off wasn't concerned about her losing it. Only giving a low rating due to the missing ring.

Nursing staff leaves MUCH to be desired. One didn't use gloves, one can hardly see and had her nose up to the IV pole, one tried to give the same medication in the IV that he just had, he had to get the head nurse to stop the nurse from arguing with him and give him the correct IV meds.,His food that came in from the outside had his name all over it and a nurse placed in it the refrigerator, staff ate it. The transport van lacks A/C in the summer,a nurse lied,There is only one small bench outside for all to sit.

Do not send your loved one here for care!! Slow response (up to 18 mins) to call bell rings for help to the toilet especially between noon and 1:30 pm. The aides wheeled my mother to the bistro for meals despite my request for meals in the room to protect her from colds and flu. She was sent to the hospital twice during her stay for respiratory infections; hence poor infection control measures at the facility. [Note: my mother was admitted to Powerback for rehab for a broken clavicle bone.] Upon admission, I explained that I wanted to be an active participant in my mother's care and wanted regular reports on her status. Not accomodated… tests, xrays and changes in meds were done without my being informed. I had to ask questions to uncover what was going on. The last straw was when my mom was sent to the hospital the second time and I came back to get something from her room about 24 hours later. The room had been cleaned out, Valentines Day flowers thrown away and her belongings placed in a box and garbage bags and put into storage without a phonecall to me to come and pack up her things!

Beautiful place with very bad care. If your loved one has any dementia they will either live their life out in the hallway or be evicted. 3 falls in one week including two where staff was supposedly assisting.

PowerBack does not handle the physical rehabilitation needs of those with dementia or alzheimers. These people need more one on one care …… PowerBack does not offer that. The physical re-conditioning may consist of one half hour twice a day. The remainder of the day (other than meal times) the patient is left sitting in a wheel chair by the nurses station. This benefits the nurses so that they can continue their desk duties and still keep an eye on patients who may be at risk for falls. Remaining in the wheelchair, however, does nothing for the physical re-conditioning portion. Eventually, when it appears that the medical insurance will no longer cover the patient, PowerBack declares that the patient is ready to be discharged. The irony is that the patient may be physically weaker than ever, due to sitting too long in a wheelchair. The only one who has benefited (financially) is PowerBack. The insurance carrier gets charged as well as the patient for any unpaid monies. Do your homework before going to PowerBack or placing a loved one in PowerBack. If PowerBack was honest up front they would admit that they do not have the staff to accommodate patients with mental impairments.

If I could, I would of rated no stars…….We did not have a chance to check out this facility before my sister was sent there for physical, speech, and occupational therapy. As soon as she arrived, they placed her in a diaper, even though she was able to get to the bathroom assisted. No therapy was started until we started asking, and then only 20 minutes of physical therapy. She was allowed to get out of bed unless assisted by a nurse, and then immediately put in a wheel chair to go to the bathroom, and then right back in bed. She had ulcers in her mouth from a round of radiation that she had finished before entering the center, and they kept bringing her orange juice to drink. Patients waited up to an hour for help to get to the bathroom. In fact one night, several family members were complaining of this, when we were told that the entire staff went to dinner at the same time and only the supervisor was manning the station. The place is dirty, bathrooms and the rooms.

Her condition deteriorated and it took a week to find another facility to take her. It has taken 10 days of therapy twice a day to get her back to where she was before going there.

The worst nursing care,total neglect,do not answer call bells,rude staff ,no respect for a patient's or resident's dignity.Do not offer bathing ,or toothbrushing,leave residents in soiled diapers,take 1hr to answer call bells,and if a patient wants to see a Dr.,forget it,takes about a week……would not want my dog taken care of here!
