If someone you love needs a nursing home, keep them away from Health Central Park. I was there for 1 1/2 days in November 2013 and was treated with callous disregard for me as a person and and contempt for my intelligence. I had had hip surgery 3 days before and was supposed to go home. Instead the hospital insisted on the nursing home for "rehab." They may have rehab but I certainly didn't see it. I was refused a walker, slung in a scale like a side of meat, left on a bedpan until it cut into my flesh, forced to lie next to an air conditioner running full tilt and treated rudely when I asked a staff person to clear her mess out of the bathroom so I could use it. "Rehab" was 25 minutes, 10 walking in the hall and 15 in a grubby basement pedaling a machine while the "therapist" left to make a phone call. I left against their advice despite being threatened with having to pay the whole bill. The bill, BTW was $1900 for the 1 1/2 days.

This place is terrible !! DO NOT have your loved one come here , We found that the staff was not properly educated with the nursing skill that was needed to care for her , which resulted in her being sent back to the hospital only to be admitted to the ICU unit fighting for her life !!!, We also found that for a large portion of the day she was not attended to.When the nurses were called they took a very long time to respond .She went several days without the staff changing the clothing,bed sheets, or even bathing her . When her food was brought to her, the staff did not assist her with eating, even when knowing she needed assistance. Also, we had to have a special bed brought in (because of a weight factor), when it arrived, it was broken and ,it took approx 3 days after numerous calls to the company for them to come and fix the bed. All in all , we feel that we had a very bad experience here at this facility and overall DO NOT RECCOMEND sending your loved one here

ORMC made the ambulance driver wait an hour so they would be sure that this facility had everything in place when my wife arrived. They said all of her medications would be waiting there for her and not to worry about any interruptions in her therapy. She had a severe disc bulge and some disc degeneration. She was unable to bend or lay flat on a bed.

When she arrived they had nothing ready and three hours later in severe pain needed to be picked up by ambulance to go back to the hospital in worse pain than she had nine days earlier when she first arrived at the hospital for her original therapy. We now need to start from day one with high dose steroidal meds for the inflammation, higher dose narcotic meds for the pain, muscle relaxers for spasms, and anesthetic patches for more pain relief. All three hours there, nothing was done, no doctor was present, no nurse was available, we were left to die or disappear. Stay clear of Colonial lakes health center, it is only a place to go to die a miserable death.

My mother has been in this facility since January… I've been impressed by how nice, and friendly everybody has been toward her and our family… They have multiple activities to keep my mother active, including exercising programs. My mother is always clean and happy.

I'm happy we found this place!

They need to change the standard of how to qualify as a CNA. The economy is very difficult and many do not possess the compassion to provide quality care to the residents. Better control is needed allowing facilites to operate. They have had 3 ED's over the past 2 years…sad.

My Father died here 6 months after being admitted due to neglect in providing immediate medical care.
