Review of Longwood Health and Rehabilitation Center

5 Star User Review

Great people and caring staff. Don't fall for fancy lobby's in other nursing homes

Look for smiles and hugs and laughter in residents and staff.

This is so true. We were nervous and, of course, looking for all of the "bells and whistles". While some of the places we looked at were wonderfully decorated, lovely building, lobby, etc., Longwood Health Care Center was the only place where I was immediately greeted, once I was allowed in, another feature I like; no-one can just "walk in", you must have a code, in a hearty, friendly manner. I was immediately offered a full tour although I had not called ahead. I did not see the usual "herd" of patients at the Nurses Station as I did at the other places. Each person is treated with at least some semblance of dignity and respect. All of the staff takes an interest in the well being of their residents. My Mother is actually doing better than she was at home. At home she had become extremely reclusive, no matter what we said, did or suggested. At Longwood Health Care she is now doing activities with the other "oldsters" such as Trivia Games and is becoming much less reclusive. I could go on and on but I agree with this comment 150%!!
