My friend was in the "skilled" nursing area with a broken hip. Doctor's instructions were to NOT get her up to attempt to walk. These iinstructions were ignored, to her great suffering and doubtless additonal damage. I went to visit and found her bed lowered to the floor, where it had been for some time. Her water pitcher was across the room on the dresser, where she could not (being non-ambulatory) reach it. They took her to "supper" at about 4:00, and kept her waiting alone forever to receive her food. The place is clearly understaffed and undertrained. A horrible experience.

The staff does NOT answer the phone at night or on the weekend. I called three times tonight to talk to the staff, I let it ring until the phone disconnected itself, no answer.

Very frustrating. I tried several times on a weekend,same results. Their corporate office needs to pay more attention to the facility. My advise to them try calling at night of and on, see if someone answers.

my sister went to windsor for rehabilitation after back surgery. we did not know that it was a combination nursing/rehab center. she stayed for a week for intensive physical and occupational therapy and received stellar care. there are people there that are permanent residents and the staff is so sweet to them. it was a poignant experience for she and i and we plan on making donations as well as volunteering. the residents appreciate the smallest of things, shampoo, toothpaste, lotions, lots of little things you might give your grandmother or grandfather.

Currently I am a resident in Longhorn Village's rehab center, following a major health crisis. I've been here for more than a month, long enough to make a fair assessment, and I can't say enough good about L.V. Their skilled nursing care is great: the staff are wonderful, premises are bright and cheery, housekeeping cleans your room every day, the food is really good, etc. The on-site rehab facility also is great, with knowledgeable caring staff and a well equipped gym. We selected L.V. based on personal recommendations (friends, medical providers, etc.) - those recommendations were spot-on, and we're now contemplating living here permanently.

Do not believe that Buckner's affiliation with the Baptist Church affects their business decisions in any way; they are "non-profit" in name only. Many promises are made by their PR person that are not fulfilled by their caregivers and administration. If you are promised something, do not assume that it will be done, follow up and make sure. It would be best to stay with your loved one for the first day (and night) or two, until they get their bearings. Buckner does not employ enough CNAs to truely care for their residents; this is because they value the bottom line ($$) over caring for vulnerable individuals. They say they don't use restraints to control the residents, but they DO use chemical restraints; that IS use of restraints. It's just too bad if use of mind-altering drugs are contraindicated in a resident (e.g. someone with dementia), they will use them anyway. If your loved one just needs time, care and understanding, be assured that they will be hurried, disrespected and drugged. Woe to those who need assistance using the toilet; they will wait and wait. Now that the food is prepared in another building, the quality is noticeably worse, colder and fewer options. Some of the CNAs are real gems, but many are not.

So this facility has a sign about injury free workplace followed by "continuous safe free days" followed by _____. In other words, a day does not go by when someone does not get hurt. I regret having my elderly parent housed there. In fact, while being unattended, she had a fall. She's only been there less than 1 week. I am going to send her to a different locale. I don't buy the 2 5-star ratings it has. Surely one of the staff or the director may have added them without comments. If I give a 5-star rating, I would definitely have something to say.

We had to put our mother in SouthCongress Care for Rehab.(Stonebriar) The Rehab staff was wonderful and now she is walking! The whole staff was always gracious and helped us with all of our needs. The new facility is beautiful and so are the wonderful people who helped my mom. One of the things I researched was how long staff had been there. They have the lowest turn around compared to the newer SNFs in town amd that was important to me as I am a nurse.

My mother was at Riverside for rehabilitation after she broke her hip. The staff was excellent. These nurses were so kind and gentle to my mom. I really felt like they treated my mom like she was their own mother. All the people there are great but there were two nurses that were amazing to my family, Maria and Judy, I think they were the best nurses I ever dealt with. In my opinion riverside is the best rehabilitation center around!! If my mother ever needs rehabilitation again I would send her there without a doubt.

My only complaint about this facility is that it is such an old building. Aside from the age of the structure and some of the equipment I would give Heritage Park 5 stars. Good nurses, good therapy, and good administration make it a place that I am comfortable to have my mom at.

My father was at Windsor Rehab to receive therapy for a hip fracture. This was one of the few places that offered private rooms. The rooms were nice and the rehab team was excellent. He is now healed up and back at home.

My experience was terrible. Inadequate staffing, high turnover, untrained attendants, meals never on time or worth eating, rooms not cleaned, beds not changed and neglect of residents. They care much more about themselves than individual patients. They leave residents in their rooms unattended for long periods of time because they don't have enough staff to take care of them. Attendants are young and untrained, and don't care about patients unless someone is looking. Residents are on their own most of the time. Weekends are the worst. The facility itself is nice. Halls are decorated in good taste. Activities are appropriate. Location is good.

If you care about your family please do nt place them in South Congress Rehabilition. The threats of holding your SSI//DI so you have no money or home are of common use at this location. The Medical and Dr care do not exist. The only form of care is high use of medication. This is a chamber of Horrow .

My wife received health care at the Casa Mesquite skilled nursing facility at Longhorn Village. The loving, professional care at Longhorn Village was superb. The staff continually strives to provide the best care possible for its patients. My wife spent the end of her life with Lewy Body Dementia at Casa Mesquite. Her final weeks were complemented with hospice care in cooperation with the Casa Mesquite nursing staff. I believe that Longhorn Village has set a higher standard for other skilled nursing facilities.

If you have someone that is in need of more help and care, then don't put the person in this nursing home. They do not communicate at all between departments. They promise that they can do things and then they don't or they are nonexistent. Only if you are healthy would I recommend for someone to go into this facility.

Most Nurses/staff are only there for a paycheck…unless the facility is short handed. If short handed is the case then something needs to be done! Bedsores on someones back and being ruled as shingles, and then given medication for something that its not is very unprofessinol. Bedsores!? No excuses for that! Pitcher had mildew in it from not being washed out, room curtians are always closed unless a friend or family member go to open them up during the day. Patients are left alone for too long.

Park Bend smells clean. I had looked at 5 other facilities and Park Bend was the cleanest and smelled the best of all the other facilities. That was a major decision factor for our family.
