I assisted as power of attorney for my grandfather in his last year of life. The nursing staff was wonderful. One of the reasons for the one star review is the neverending construction of the facility that was ongoing during his last yr of life. Also, we had a terrible problem with the social worker withholding his funds and refusing to issue them to his appointed financial power of attorney to use for his end of life care. She misappropriated my grandfathers money by with holding it, he almost wasn't able to have a proper funeral due to her actions. It was nearly a month before she even allowed the funds to be sent not to the power of attorney but only to the funeral home. We are still thinking of filing a complaint with the state. Every time we tries to access the money to pay for things for grandpa she would deny and with hold his money to the point where we didn't bother asking and payed out of pocket for grandpa's necessities.
