4 Star User Review
My mom stayed here for almost 2 months after open heart surgery in April 2012. She had previously had a stroke and has limited mobility so needed extra care and rehab after surgery. I didn't give it 5 stars because there were some administrative processes that could have been better, but the nurses and folks who actually cared for my mom would have gotten 10 stars if possible!!
Over the last 3 years, my mom has been to 8 different rehab/skilled nursing facilities since her stroke and surgery--and this is the first one I've wanted to actually write about!! The first thing I noticed when I walked in for the tour was the vibe of Parham Healthcare. It's upbeat and friendly, not old and stuffy like many of the other places my mom has been to. Everyone had a smile on their face, both employees and patients/residents. It was so refreshing!!
In many other places, the nurses and employees were there to do a job, and you could tell it was just a job by the way they interacted with people. At Parham, the nurses and therapists interacted with my mom (and me) on a personal level--it wasn't just business.
There were a few admin processes that could have been smoother, some confusion about meetings to update the family on progress and extension on stays, but in the end it all got done. And it was worth the extra effort on my part to get that stuff straight because I knew my mom was getting top notch treatment.
