Hopefully they have improved since I was there following bilateral knee replacement. During my time there, the only good feature was the physical and occupational therapy department.
Deficiencies: 1. no raised toilet seat - I was trapped on the toilet for 45 min - no one answered the call light.
2. Out of 10 days - they forgot my breakfast for 5.
3. Food was basically inedible - if you didn't like it (and you had no choice), then you got a toasted cheese sandwich.
4. Sheets were NEVER changed. My daughter or friends would remake the bed when they visited.
5. No TV in the room - finally bought my own in via friends.
6. The ONLY day I was scheduled for a shower, my attendant was a young black male. Checked out the shower room and most stalls had bedside commodes or other equipment in them.
7. Did my own clean up in the bathroom as no one ever came in to help me.
7. After discharge, received a bill for $750.00 sent to my daughter. When I went in to complain with copies of Medicare and BC 100% reimbursement, they finally backed down. I told them I would NOT pay another cent for the deplorable care - take it up with insurance companies.
8. Complained to Insurance regulators - they commented that I had made it to discharge and they didn't like to take action until they had more complaints.
