My husband was at Compass for 13 days. I had to be there constantly to be certain that he received the proper care. The PT is ok but even that I had to stay aware of. My biggest complaint is the doctor that this rehab center uses. He never takes much time with the patients, was always in a big hurry and would not listen.When my husband was admitted, the MD came in & quickly reviewed his case. My husband had been vomiting as soon as he had arrived and was in much pain. The doctor knew this but left without ordering anything to help him. While there, my husband began running a temp. I brought this to his attention and he would not listen to what I had to say but just blew me off. I told him that when my husband started running a fever-even if it was not high in his estimation-it usually meant he had a UTI. He again did nothing. I took my husband to his urologist- he had an infection. When I told the MD at the rehab about the infection he just said "Well that would explain a lot." Then when my husband was discharged (at my insistence) the MD messed up his meds. He or a nurse never went over the med list with me and I was unaware of the mistakes until my husband returned to his assisted living facility. The MD had not sent orders to continue one of his meds for an enlarged prostate, he lowered the dosage for his diabetes medication which his urologist had just changed so he go off insulin, changed his stool softener orders, discontinued his Tylenol which he takes for pain in his back, hands, and knees.
