Review of Mesa Vista Inn Health Center

1 Star User Review

This medical facility is not only one of the worst ,but deadly. My father was admited last November. He had open wounds on his feet and has scorrolis of the liver. He was there for reabillitation. While he stayed there he got lots of beb sores, but worst of all he got mrsa in and on his feet.( this is a flesh eatting ) The staff that was on hand would not let my father call my aunt for help. When my aunt showed up to the nursing home to visit the room he was in it smelled like a dead animal was rotting away. (That was the smell of my dad's feet rotting. ) Today he is permitly disabled from this horrable place. Please do not send any of your loved ones here. Check with the D.A.D list for the best centers. This will help you find a great place. You can even call them for advice. This place dosen't even deserve one star.

Your review was very interesting and I wish I had read it before my mother-in-law was admitted. We were very disappointed, to say the least, with Mesa Vista. On one visit, we found my MIL sitting on the side of the bed, moaning, and in a filthy Depends. She was already red, raw and sore. It took over a week to heal and she was in a great deal of pain each time she had to go to the bathroom. The staff had been in place for at least three years and a culture of disinterest and apathy were pervasive. A new administration was put in place almost three months ago; however, their behaviors did not change appreciably in the time we were there.

On one occasion, while family members were visiting, one of the ladies asked for assistance from a nurse in the hallway. The nurse's response was, "She is not my patient and I have a very important meeting to attend." When the family member told the nurse that surely this would not take much time (and wasn't the "resident" more important than her meeting), the nurse grudgingly agreed to help.

We were unable to find a place immediately as the good places are full. Some have a waiting list of a year or better.

When we made it known that we would be leaving, a series of events happened:

1. Her nightclothes began disappearing

2. The order for a hospital bed was delayed several days

3. The urinalysis was not done (as had been promised at least twice before. Results: she did have a UTI)

Might you be able to contact me? I would like to ask questions.
