Restraints (physical and pharmaceutical) over used. Most of CNA staff doesnt really care. Lack of good doctor interaction. Unless you can be there everyday or close to it with your family member they will not get attention needed. I use to work there for over a year. If patients cant eat/drink by themselves, expect dehydration and /or malnutrition. Id recommend with ANY nursing home you are considering, go there, watch the workers there for a while. Go sit and watch them feed people during meal time. Ask other family members of patients who are there what really goes on. Look at how many people you see walking around instead of in bed all day or left in wheelchair in hall. Ask a cna and/or nurse how many residents they are assigned that day, any number over 7 is too many, Good Luck.
