My father was taken to Broad Acres for rehab, but his cancer took a turn for the worse and my sister and I decided to do his palliative care there. We could not have managed without the wonderful staff at Broad Acres. Anything that we wanted and asked for, they made a priority. They went out of their way to give comfort to my father and compassion to us. They are busy and hardworking people, but were never abrupt, and never made us feel like we couldn't ask for help. They reacted immediately to any distress my father was undergoing in any way they could.
The rooms are quite small, so the staff tiptoed around my sister and I as we slept on mats beside my father's bed. They let us come and go as we needed,
Most of all, they genuinely cared about us during our father's last days, during a time we could barely care for ourselves. I am forever grateful for the work that is done at Broad Acres, and for the staff that performs it so compassionately.
