Review of Spiritrust Lutheran the Village at Shrewsbury

Sadly, the staff is often uncaring, unresponsive, incompetent, and sometimes cruel. A new administrator is in place, and she is attempting to address the many deficiencies, but little discernible progress has been made.

I am sorry you feel this way about the staff because I find them to be wonderful caring and on top of things. What I do see though is a management that continues to put more and more onto the staff while taking away great employees and continually understaffing the facility. The morale has really gone down because the staff are extremely overworked and unappreciated. This new "admin" you speak of has never been a nurse so all she see's are the figures and not actually what's going on. Maybe you need to look at the entire picture before making judgement.

I have found the staff to be very caring. My friend is there now and I have been there every day, for hours at a time. I find all the staff, from housekeeping, to nursing and food service, to be competent and very caring. I have been in the nursing field for 27 years and know what goes on behind the scenes, it is a very difficult field to work in, caring for patients, that sometimes no one comes to see, patients that are combative and confused, it is very stressful. I think the staff at this facility are great.
